Luke 9:51-62

Jesus sets out for Jerusalem

As the time drew near for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely took the road for Jerusalem and sent messengers ahead of him. These set out, and they went into a Samaritan village to make preparations for him, but the people would not receive him because he was making for Jerusalem. Seeing this, the disciples James and John said, ‘Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to burn them up?’ But he turned and rebuked them, and they went off to another village.

  As they travelled along they met a man on the road who said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered, ‘Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.’

  Another to whom he said, ‘Follow me’, replied, ‘Let me go and bury my father first.’ But he answered, ‘Leave the dead to bury their dead; your duty is to go and spread the news of the kingdom of God.’

  Another said, ‘I will follow you, sir, but first let me go and say goodbye to my people at home.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Once the hand is laid on the plough, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.’

   The Christian way is always about risk, while we follow Jesus because Christ often does not give the answer, when does he go. He says, follow me, and you shall see. This is an adventure with risk and uncertainty. The readings for today make us aware that God calls Elisha and the three people from the Gospel. He says; leave your home and come with me. 

 

This situation may bear some fear and resistance; what shall I go to if I cannot get to know about the way of God, we do not like risks, but we need some stability. 

 

The readings show us that our relationship with God is a mystery and adventure beyond; only God knows where we will go in our life with him. 

 

Jesus Christ wants us the absolute determinations and good will to follow him. Profound faith demands from us an undivided heart to accept God. 

 

This is not a good thing to stay between God and us, to keep a space for mine. It’s impossible to be a Christian for 80% or even 99%. Either I am for 100%, or I am not an Apostle of Christ.  

 

 

I cannot be Christian a bit, and man for the whole world with all the consequences. So I need to risk following Jesus without fear, and I may gain more from him. 

 

Follow me, says the Lord, and be my disciple in fully. Amen.

Gdy dopełniał się czas wzięcia Jezusa z tego świata, postanowił udać się do Jerozolimy i wysłał przed sobą posłańców. Ci wybrali się w drogę i przyszli do pewnego miasteczka samarytańskiego, by Mu przygotować pobyt. Nie przyjęto Go jednak, ponieważ zmierzał do Jerozolimy. Widząc to, uczniowie Jakub i Jan rzekli: ”Panie, czy chcesz, a powiemy, żeby ogień spadł z nieba i zniszczył ich?”. Lecz On odwróciwszy się zabronił im. I udali się do innego miasteczka. A gdy szli drogą, ktoś powiedział do Niego: ”Pójdę za Tobą, dokądkolwiek się udasz”. Jezus mu odpowiedział: ”Lisy mają nory i ptaki powietrzne gniazda, lecz Syn Człowieczy nie ma miejsca, gdzie by głowę mógł wesprzeć”. Do innego rzekł: ”Pójdź za Mną”. Ten zaś odpowiedział: ”Panie, pozwól mi najpierw pójść i pogrzebać mojego ojca”. Odparł mu: ”Zostaw umarłym grzebanie ich umarłych, a ty idź i głoś królestwo Boże”. Jeszcze inny rzekł: ”Panie, chcę pójść za Tobą, ale pozwól mi najpierw pożegnać się z moimi w domu”. Jezus mu odpowiedział: ”Ktokolwiek przykłada rękę do pługa, a wstecz się ogląda, nie nadaje się do królestwa Bożego”.

   Chrześcijańska droga zawsze wiąże się z ryzykiem, gdy idziemy za Jezusem, ponieważ Chrystus bardzo często nie daje odpowiedzi, dokąd podążamy. Mówi, pójdź za mną, a zobaczysz. To przygoda z ryzykiem i niepewnością. Dzisiejsze czytania uświadamiają nam, że Bóg wzywa Elizeusza i trzy osoby z Ewangelii, opuść dom i chodź ze mną.

 

Ta sytuacja może budzić lęk i opór, gdzie mam się udać, skoro nie mogę poznać drogi Bożej, nie lubimy ryzyka, potrzebujemy stabilności.

 

Czytania ukazują nam, że nasza relacja z Bogiem jest tajemnicą i przygodą w nieznane, tylko Bóg wie, dokąd zmierzamy w naszym życiu z Nim.

 

Jezus Chrystus chce od nas prawdziwej determinacji i dobrej woli, byśmy za Nim podążali. Poważna wiara wymaga od nas niepodzielnych serc, i przyjęcia Boga.

 

Nie da się być chrześcijaninem w 80%, a nawet w 99%. Albo jestem na 100%, albo wcale nie jestem Apostołem Chrystusa.

 

 

Nie mogę być trochę chrześcijaninem i człowiekiem dla całego świata ze wszystkimi tego konsekwencjami. Potrzebuję zaryzykować, aby iść za Jezusem bez strachu, mogąc jeszcze więcej zyskać od Niego.

 

Pójdź za mną, mówi Pan i bądź w pełni moim uczniem. Amen.

Luke 9:11-17

The feeding of the five thousand

Jesus made the crowds welcome and talked to them about the kingdom of God; and he cured those who were in need of healing.

  It was late afternoon when the Twelve came to him and said, ‘Send the people away, and they can go to the villages and farms round about to find lodging and food; for we are in a lonely place here.’ He replied, ‘Give them something to eat yourselves.’ But they said, ‘We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we are to go ourselves and buy food for all these people.’ For there were about five thousand men. But he said to his disciples, ‘Get them to sit down in parties of about fifty.’ They did so and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, raised his eyes to heaven, and said the blessing over them; then he broke them and handed them to his disciples to distribute among the crowd. They all ate as much as they wanted, and when the scraps remaining were collected they filled twelve baskets.

   Today the Mother of Church gives us special occasion to adore our Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. The beginning of this Solemnity, which we call the Corpus Christi, takes from the XIII century, established by Pope Urban IV. It was the respond for the mistic experience of a nun Julianna, the Augustine, which was interpreted as the lack of proper feast for the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. 

 

 

These events gave the beginning of the public profession of the Body and Blood of Christ, which has become the opportunity to announce to the exterior world, that our Lord is with us. 

 

We take the Blessed Sacrament to the streets and our backgrounds to say, I believe, that Christ is present here in a small piece of bread and a couple drops of wine. But for now, there is no bread and wine, but God himself.

 

In one religion song we have a sentence, God’s will is about to go out of the churches to come our homes, streets, where we are on every day, Jesus Christ wants to touch these places, to see, how do we live. 

 

The Almighty God on this day wants to be out of his Throne, the Tabernacle, to see his children and get to know, how do they live. 

 

Celebrating Masses at the Piazzas and going in the procession with the Blessed Sacrament, we profess our faith, we allow to Jesus, and he can come, to see my daily life and my usual place, I live.  Coming there, Christ gives us his blessing for us. 

 

I would like to share of one thing yet. While I am before the Lord in our church, from time to time, a granny or a mother coming with a child to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel saying to the child; this is Jesus. This is about the fundamental catechise of our faith. 

 

We need to teach the young generation, look, this is Jesus our Lord, who is here, among us. That’s the simplest way to make people aware, God is Emmanuel, God with us, the fundament of our belief. 

 

May this annual celebration of the Corpus Christi strengthen our faith in the real presence of God in the Eucharist and make us able to tell people, this is Jesus in the Tabernacle, the Living God with us.

Jezus opowiadał rzeszom o królestwie Bożym, a tych, którzy leczenia potrzebowali, uzdrowił. Dzień począł się chylić ku wieczorowi. Wtedy przystąpiło do Niego Dwunastu mówiąc: „Odpraw tłum; niech idą do okolicznych wsi i zagród, gdzie znajdą schronienie i żywność; bo jesteśmy tu na pustkowiu”. Lecz On rzekł do nich: „Wy dajcie im jeść”. Oni odpowiedzieli: „Mamy tylko pięć chlebów i dwie ryby; chyba że pójdziemy i nakupimy żywności dla wszystkich tych ludzi”. Było bowiem około pięciu tysięcy mężczyzn. Wtedy rzekł do swych uczniów: „Każcie im rozsiąść się gromadami mniej więcej po pięćdziesięciu”. Uczynili tak i rozmieścili wszystkich. A On wziął te pięć chlebów i dwie ryby, spojrzał w niebo i odmówiwszy nad nimi błogosławieństwo, połamał i dawał uczniom, by podawali ludowi. Jedli i nasycili się wszyscy, i zebrano jeszcze dwanaście koszów ułomków, które im zostały.

   Dzisiaj Matka Kościoła daje nam szczególną okazję do adoracji naszego Pana Jezusa w Najświętszym Sakramencie. Początek tej uroczystości, którą nazywamy Bożym Ciałem, sięga XIII wieku, ustanowionego przez papieża Urbana IV. Była to odpowiedź na mistyczne doświadczenie zakonnicy Julianny Augustyna, które zostało zinterpretowane jako brak odpowiedniego uczczenia rzeczywistej obecności Chrystusa w Eucharystii.

 

 

Wydarzenia te dały początek publicznego wyznania Ciała i Krwi Chrystusa, co stało się okazją do głoszenia światu zewnętrznemu, że nasz Pan jest z nami.

 

Wynosimy Najświętszy Sakrament na ulice i do naszych środowisk, aby powiedzieć, wierzę, że Chrystus jest tutaj obecny w małym kawałku chleba i w kilku kroplach wina. Ale tutaj już nie ma chleba i wina, tylko sam Bóg.

 

W jednej pieśni religijnej mamy zdanie, że wolą Bożą jest wyjście z  kościołów, aby przybyć do naszych domów, ulic, w których jesteśmy na co dzień, Jezus Chrystus chce dotknąć tych miejsc, zobaczyć jak żyjemy.

 

Bóg Wszechmogący w tym dniu chce opuścić Swój Tron, Tabernakulum, aby zobaczyć swoje dzieci i dowiedzieć się, jak żyją.

 

Odprawiając Msze Święte na Placach i idąc w procesji z Najświętszym Sakramentem, wyznajemy naszą wiarę, pozwalamy Jezusowi, aby on mógł przyjść, aby zobaczyć moje codzienne życie i moje zwykłe miejsce, w którym mieszkam. Przychodząc tam, Chrystus daje nam swoje błogosławieństwo.

 

Chciałbym podzielić się jeszcze jedną rzeczą. Kiedy jestem przed Panem w naszym kościele, od czasu do czasu babcia lub matka przychodząca z dzieckiem do Kaplicy Najświętszego Sakramentu mówi do dziecka; to jest Jezus. To jest podstawowa katecheza naszej wiary.

John 16:12-15

The Spirit of truth will lead you to the complete truth

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘I still have many things to say to you

but they would be too much for you now.

But when the Spirit of truth comes

he will lead you to the complete truth,

since he will not be speaking as from himself

but will say only what he has learnt;

and he will tell you of the things to come.

He will glorify me,

since all he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.

Everything the Father has is mine;

that is why I said:

All he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.’

   Today, one week after the Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate one of the greatest mysteries of our faith – the Sunday of the Holy Trinity. That mystery is very challenging for us because we face the truth which surpasses our understanding and abilities. Here, on Earth, we cannot get any answer for the mystery of one God present in Three Persons, in the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 

 

We need to accept it because some things we will understand on the other side of life, and the mystery of the Holy Spirit is one of them. 

 

What is the phenomena of the Holy Spirit? It is about the unity; the Three Persons are one God. And in that unity is hidden the whole power of God. God is never divided, He is one in His work and divinity. The unity is built on love and respect to one another. 

 

God is powerful, because every person loves and respects one another. The nature of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is equal.

 

This is the divinity and the power of the Holy Spirit. The unity, love and respect, which make them strong and successful. Working together, God in the Holy Trinity is invincible and eternal. 

 

As we know, any division makes us weaker, and on the other side, the unity makes us better. 

 

The Holy Trinity is God, the power of love. 

 

I cannot say anything more about the Holy Spirit, it is still the hidden truth. It may be disappointing, but I cannot understand more. Let us end with the prayer; glory be to the Father, to the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Jezus powiedział swoim uczniom: ”Jeszcze wiele mam wam do powiedzenia, ale teraz jeszcze znieść nie możecie. Gdy zaś przyjdzie On, Duch Prawdy, doprowadzi was do całej prawdy. Bo nie będzie mówił od siebie, ale powie wszystko, cokolwiek słyszy, i oznajmi wam rzeczy przyszłe. On Mnie otoczy chwałą, ponieważ z mojego weźmie i wam oznajmi. Wszystko, co ma Ojciec, jest moje. Dlatego powiedziałem, że z mojego bierze i wam objawi”.

   Dziś tydzień po Niedzieli Zesłania Ducha Świętego obchodzimy jedną z największych tajemnic naszej wiary, Niedzielę Trójcy Świętej. Ta tajemnica i dzień są dla nas bardzo trudne, ponieważ stajemy w obliczu prawdy, która przewyższa nasze rozumienie i możliwości. Tu na ziemi nie możemy uzyskać żadnej odpowiedzi, jeden Bóg jest obecny w Trzech Osobach, w jedności Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego.

 

Musimy to zaakceptować, pewne rzeczy zrozumiemy po drugiej stronie życia, a tajemnica Ducha Świętego jest jedną z nich.

 

Czym jest zjawisko Ducha Świętego? Tu chodzi o jedność; Trzy Osoby to jeden Bóg. A w jedności ukryta jest cała moc Boża. Bóg nigdy nie jest podzielony, ale jest Jeden w swojej pracy i boskości. Węzłem jedności jest miłość i szacunek do siebie.

 

Bóg jest potężny, ponieważ każda osoba kocha się nawzajem, ma szacunek do siebie. Nikt nie wznosi się ponad siebie, ale natura Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego jest równa. Osoby Trójcy Przenajświętszej są pokorne, tęskniąc za dobrem dusz.

 

Boskość i moc Ducha Świętego to jedność, miłość i szacunek, które czynią je silnymi i skutecznymi. Działając razem, Bóg w Trójcy Świętej jest niezwyciężony i wieczny.

 

Jak wiemy każdy podział czyni nas słabszymi, a z drugiej strony jedność czyni nas lepszymi.

 

Trójca Święta jest Bogiem, mocą miłości.

 

Nie mogę powiedzieć ani słowa więcej o Trójcy Przenajświętszej, to wciąż ukryta prawda przed nami. To może nas rozczarować w tym kazaniu, ale nie jestem Bogiem, żeby zrozumieć więcej. Zakończmy modlitwą; Chwała Ojcu, Synowi i Duchowi Świętemu, jak była na początku, teraz i zawsze i na wieki wieków. Amen.

John 14:15-16,23-26

The Holy Spirit will teach you everything

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘If you love me you will keep my commandments.

I shall ask the Father,

and he will give you another Advocate

to be with you for ever.

‘If anyone loves me he will keep my word,

and my Father will love him,

and we shall come to him and make our home with him.

Those who do not love me do not keep my words.

And my word is not my own:

it is the word of the one who sent me.

I have said these things to you while still with you;

but the Advocate, the Holy Spirit,

whom the Father will send in my name,

will teach you everything

and remind you of all I have said to you.

   Today, we celebrate the last day of Eastertide – The Pentecost Sunday. When the Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles, they started proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can say that this day is our day of birth as the members of the Church. 

 

Jesus said, "If anyone loves me he will keep my word,

and my Father will love him,

and we shall come to him and make our home with him.

Those who do not love me do not keep my words."

 

    To understand why it all happened, we need to look at the today's Gospel. The Third Person of the Holy Trinity is the key to understand the mission of the Holy Spirit who is the Sanctifier, the wisdom, and the power of God. The Apostles in the Cenacle were bestowed with sanctity, wisdom, and the power of Christ, to help them evangelize people. And 2000 years later the Church still does it. This is the continuation of the Pentecost. 

 

The Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier what means that He is sanctity himself, and everything what comes from Him is sacred. Sacraments exist thanks to Him. Blessing, grace, Eucharist, and every sacrament has the power of the Holy Spirit. A priest and any praying person are doing it thanks to the Holy Spirit.

 

The Holy Sprit sanctifies our congregations. This power comes from God. The hands of priests are anointed by the grace of the Holy Spirit.

 

The Holy Spirit is the wisdom of God and leads us to the Church. The Church and its teaching are universal and timeless. We can be sure that the authority of our Church is confirmed trough the Holy Spirit. The dogmas do not change, because they were revealed by God. What we believe in is the wisdom of God. Apart from that, we should remember to pray to the Holy Spirit every time when we must make a decision. He is always ready to help us. He is working both in our community and when we talk to Him personally.

 

The Holy Spirit is also the power of God which unites the Church. Our community has existed for 2000 years and will exists in the future. Over 1 billion people, on 5 continents, pray to the same God in the Holy Trinity and celebrate the same Mass. The same power can change many hearts and minds of people who convert or come back to God. This is the mystery of many people which can change their lives. Today we sing in the Supplication: "Bend the stubborn heart and will, melt the frozen, warm the chill. Guide the steps that go astray".

Thanks to Him we can find a new quality of life, God's life. 

 

Today's Solemnity reminds us that in everything what have in the Church, and in our spiritual life, there is the sanctity, wisdom, and power of God thanks to the Holy Spirit. He is the main "impulse" of the Church and human's life. He is working now and will work until the end of the world.

I would like to end my sermon with one thing. As we know, The Holy Spirit is the Guide of the Church and people. He leads us makes us more prudent. While we are celebrating the Pentecost Solemnity, we need to be aware that we should not disturb Him in his work. Let’s listen to Him, and we will hear what wisdom is hidden in His work. The Holy Spirit always wants to help us. 

 

 Come Holy Spirit. Amen.

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: "Jeżeli Mnie miłujecie, będziecie zachowywać moje przykazania. Ja zaś będę prosił Ojca, a innego Parakleta da wam, aby z wami był na zawsze. Jeśli Mnie kto miłuje, będzie zachowywał moją naukę, a Ojciec mój umiłuje go i przyjdziemy do niego, i mieszkanie u niego uczynimy. Kto nie miłuje Mnie, ten nie zachowuje słów moich. a nauka, którą słyszycie, nie jest moja, ale Tego, który Mnie posłał, Ojca. To wam powiedziałem, przebywając wśród was. A Paraklet, Duch Święty, którego Ojciec pośle w moim imieniu, On was wszystkiego nauczy i przypomni wam wszystko, co Ja wam powiedziałem".

   Dziś obchodzimy ostatni dzień Wielkanocy – Niedzielę Zesłania Ducha Świętego. Kiedy Duch Święty zstąpił na Apostołów, zaczęli głosić Ewangelię Jezusa Chrystusa. Możemy powiedzieć, że ten dzień jest naszym dniem narodzin jako członków Kościoła.

 

Jezus powiedział: „Jeżeli Mnie miłujecie, będziecie zachowywać moje przykazania. Ja zaś będę prosił Ojca, a innego Parakleta da wam, aby z wami był na zawsze”.

 

Aby zrozumieć, dlaczego to wszystko się wydarzyło, musimy spojrzeć na dzisiejszą Ewangelię. Trzecia Osoba Trójcy Świętej jest kluczem do zrozumienia misji Ducha Świętego, który jest Uświęcicielem, Mądrością i Mocą Boga. Apostołowie w Wieczerniku zostali obdarzeni świętością, mądrością i mocą Chrystusa, aby móc ewangelizować ludzi. 2000 lat później Kościół nadal to robi. To jest kontynuacja Pięćdziesiątnicy.

 

Duch Święty jest Uświęcicielem, co oznacza, że ​​sam jest świętością, a wszystko, co od Niego pochodzi, jest święte. Dzięki Niemu istnieją sakramenty. Błogosławieństwo, łaska, Eucharystia i każdy sakrament mają moc Ducha Świętego. Kapłan i każdy modlący się czyni to dzięki Duchowi Świętemu.

Poza tym pamiętajmy o modlitwie do Ducha Świętego za każdym razem, gdy musimy podjąć jakąś decyzję. On zawsze jest gotów nam pomóc, działając zarówno w naszej społeczności, jak i wtedy, gdy rozmawiamy z Nim osobiście.

 

Duch Święty jest także mocą Bożą, która jednoczy Kościół. Nasza społeczność istnieje od 2000 lat i będzie istnieć w przyszłości. Ponad miliard ludzi na 5 kontynentach modli się do tego samego Boga w Trójcy Świętej i odprawia tą samą Mszę. Ta sama moc może zmienić wiele serc i umysłów ludzi, którzy nawracają się lub wracają do Boga. To tajemnica wielu ludzi, którzy zmieniają swoje życie. Śpiewamy dziś w suplikacji do Ducha Świętego: 

 

„Nagnij, co jest harde,
Rozgrzej serca twarde,
Prowadź zabłąkane”.

 

 

Dzięki Niemu możemy znaleźć nową jakość życia, życie Boże.

 

Dzisiejsza uroczystość przypomina nam, że we wszystkim, co mamy w Kościele i w naszym życiu duchowym, jest to świętość, mądrość i moc Boża dzięki Duchowi Świętemu. On jest głównym „impulsem” życia Kościoła i człowieka. 

 

Chciałbym zakończyć moje kazanie jedną myślą. Jak wiemy, Duch Święty jest Przewodnikiem Kościoła i ludzi. Prowadzi nas, czyni nas bardziej ostrożnymi. Kiedy obchodzimy uroczystość Zesłania Ducha Świętego, musimy być świadomi, że nie powinniśmy Mu przeszkadzać w Jego pracy. Posłuchajmy Go, a usłyszymy Jego głos. Duch Święty zawsze chce nam pomóc.

 

 Przyjdź Duchu Święty. Amen.
