The Cross... Krzyż...

 

Mark 8:27-35

The Son of Man is destined to suffer grievously

Jesus and his disciples left for the villages round Caesarea Philippi. On the way he put this question to his disciples, ‘Who do people say I am?’ And they told him. ‘John the Baptist,’ they said ‘others Elijah; others again, one of the prophets.’ ‘But you,’ he asked ‘who do you say I am?’ Peter spoke up and said to him, ‘You are the Christ.’ And he gave them strict orders not to tell anyone about him.

  And he began to teach them that the Son of Man was destined to suffer grievously, to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be put to death, and after three days to rise again; and he said all this quite openly. Then, taking him aside, Peter started to remonstrate with him. But, turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said to him, ‘Get behind me, Satan! Because the way you think is not God’s way but man’s.’

  He called the people and his disciples to him and said, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.’

This weekend we focus on the Cross, while we commemorate the sign of our Salvation. Yesterday, the Church celebrated the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, and today the memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. 

 

The vision of the cross makes some emotions, especially those, which are negative and difficult, for nobody wants to experience of suffering, to be ill, or to endure the humiliation.

 

Generally, we omit the sad feelings, to avoid the frustrations and the loneliness of suffering.

 

 

But the cross and challenges may be a chance for me, I cannot stop the difficult confrontation, we are not able to avoid the illness, wars, some ways of poverty. Nobody can make this world as a paradise, however the different ideology kept on trying to do that. 

 

The difficulties and the struggle put a light on a different perspective, I cannot get heaven on earth, so I would like, but through the acceptation of the sad moments of life, I may see wider on my life.

 

The cross is definitely the sign of victory, not here and now, but in future. As we know, these two boards of the wood are the way to Redemption. Jesus died and was risen, defeating death, and opening the gate of heaven. Saint Paul writes in his letter, that we cannot compare the suffering with the glory of the Resurrection, we suffer awhile, but the eternity is full of peace, freed of the physical, mental and the spiritual experience. 

 

And one thing yet, experiencing the difficulties I may dignify my own life, it seems to be naïve and untrue, but many people have experienced, their life has become better trough the struggle of suffering.

 

We adore your and mine cross Jesus, by it you have redeemed the world. Amen. 

 

 

(Mk 8, 27-35) 
Jezus udał się ze swoimi uczniami do wiosek pod Cezareą Filipową. W drodze pytał uczniów: "Za kogo uważają Mnie ludzie?" Oni Mu odpowiedzieli: "Za Jana Chrzciciela, inni za Eliasza, jeszcze inni za jednego z proroków". On ich zapytał: "A wy za kogo Mnie uważacie?" Odpowiedział Mu Piotr: "Ty jesteś Mesjasz". Wtedy surowo im przykazał, żeby nikomu o Nim nie mówili. I zaczął ich pouczać, że Syn Człowieczy wiele musi wycierpieć, że będzie odrzucony przez starszych, arcykapłanów i uczonych w Piśmie; że zostanie zabity, ale po trzech dniach zmartwychwstanie. A mówił zupełnie otwarcie te słowa. Wtedy Piotr wziął Go na bok i zaczął Go upominać. Lecz On obrócił się i patrząc na swych uczniów, zgromił Piotra słowami: "Zejdź Mi z oczu, szatanie, bo nie myślisz po Bożemu, lecz po ludzku". Potem przywołał do siebie tłum razem ze swoimi uczniami i rzekł im: "Jeśli ktoś chce pójść za Mną, niech się zaprze samego siebie, niech weźmie krzyż swój i niech Mnie naśladuje. Bo kto chce zachować swoje życie, straci je; a kto straci swe życie z powodu Mnie i Ewangelii, zachowa je".

W ten weekend skupiamy się na Krzyżu, upamiętniając znak naszego Zbawienia. Wczoraj Kościół obchodził Podwyższenie Krzyża, a dziś wspomnienie Matki Bożej Bolesnej.

 

Wizja krzyża wywołuje pewne emocje, zwłaszcza te negatywne i trudne, ponieważ nikt nie chce doświadczać cierpienia, być chorym lub znosić upokorzenia.

 

Na ogół pomijamy smutne uczucia, aby uniknąć frustracji i samotności cierpienia.

 

Ale krzyż i wyzwania mogą być dla mnie szansą. Nie mogę powstrzymać trudnej konfrontacji z cierpieniem, nie jesteśmy w stanie uniknąć choroby, wojen, pewnych form ubóstwa. Nikt nie może uczynić tego świata rajem, jednakże różne ideologie nieustannie próbują to zrobić.

 

Trudności i zmagania rzucają światło na inną perspektywę, nie mogę uczynić nieba na ziemi, ale przez akceptację smutnych chwil życia, mogę spojrzeć szerzej na moje życie.

 

Krzyż jest zdecydowanie znakiem zwycięstwa, nie tu i teraz, ale w przyszłości. Jak wiemy, te dwie belki drewna są drogą do odkupienia. Jezus umarł i zmartwychwstał, pokonując śmierć i otwierając bramę nieba. Święty Paweł pisze w swoim liście, że nie możemy porównywać cierpienia z chwałą Zmartwychwstania, cierpimy przez chwilę, ale wieczność jest pełna pokoju, wolna od cierpienia fizycznego, psychicznego i duchowego.

 

I jeszcze jedno, doświadczając trudności mogę uszlachetnić własne życie, wydaje się to naiwne i nieprawdziwe, ale wielu ludzi tego doświadczyło, ich życie stało się lepsze dzięki podjęciu cierpienia.

 

Uwielbiamy Twój i mój krzyż Jezu, przez który odkupiłeś świat. Amen.

To meditate the God's grace... Rozważać Dobroć Boga...

Mark 7:31-37

'He makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak'

Returning from the district of Tyre, Jesus went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, right through the Decapolis region. And they brought him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man’s ears and touched his tongue with spittle. Then looking up to heaven he sighed; and he said to him, ‘Ephphatha’, that is, ‘Be opened.’ And his ears were opened, and the ligament of his tongue was loosened and he spoke clearly. And Jesus ordered them to tell no one about it, but the more he insisted, the more widely they published it. Their admiration was unbounded. ‘He has done all things well,’ they said ‘he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.’ 

The Gospel of Mark reports the meeting of Jesus with a deaf man, who came to him to ask for the grace of health. 

 

That man was devoid of hearing, which is so important for us, to communicate to each other. The act of healing made him a fully worthy man, who could function in the society. 

 

What happened later, the Lord said; go and keep for yourself of what has been done in your life. Go and meditate and glorify God in your heart, in silence. Unfortunately, the man did not use the chance to do that. Immediately, he was to announce to everyone about his healing. 

 

Meditating this fragment of the Gospel, it worthy to stop and think about it. I suppose, we have had the same situation in our life, been granted of God’s grace. The question is, how often I kept it in my heart, to glorify Jesus Christ, to do a prayer of worship? Was my soul full of gratitude to God, first. Or I have done a lot of noise among me, to gain the attention, that I am so great, and God is so close to me. So often, this kind of attitude has become a way of being pride.

 

Some people, who were granted by the Lord, they exercised themselves in humility, meditating the great works of God in them. This situation was a good opportunity to be humbler, no to make a noise around. 

 

Jesus Christ is calling is, may the way of secret and silence make you meeker. Amen. 

 

 

(Mk 7, 31-37) 
Jezus opuścił okolice Tyru i przez Sydon przyszedł nad Jezioro Galilejskie, przemierzając posiadłości Dekapolu. Przyprowadzili Mu głuchoniemego i prosili Go, żeby położył na niego rękę. On wziął go na bok, z dala od tłumu, włożył palce w jego uszy i śliną dotknął mu języka; a spojrzawszy w niebo, westchnął i rzekł do niego: "Effatha", to znaczy: Otwórz się. Zaraz otworzyły się jego uszy, więzy języka się rozwiązały i mógł prawidłowo mówić. Jezus przykazał im, żeby nikomu nie mówili. Lecz im bardziej przykazywał, tym gorliwiej to rozgłaszali. I przepełnieni zdumieniem mówili: "Dobrze wszystko uczynił. Nawet głuchym słuch przywraca i niemym mowę".

Ewangelia Marka opowiada o spotkaniu Jezusa z głuchym człowiekiem, który przyszedł do Niego, aby prosić o łaskę zdrowia.

 

Ten człowiek był pozbawiony słuchu, co jest dla nas tak ważne, aby móc się ze sobą komunikować. Akt uzdrowienia uczynił go w pełni godnym człowiekiem, który mógł funkcjonować w społeczeństwie.

 

Co wydarzyło się później, Pan powiedział; idź i zachowaj dla siebie to, co zostało uczynione w twoim życiu. Idź, rozważaj i uwielbiaj Boga w swoim sercu, w ciszy. Niestety, człowiek ten nie wykorzystał okazji, aby to zrobić. Natychmiast miał ogłosić wszystkim o swoim uzdrowieniu.

 

Rozważając ten fragment Ewangelii, warto się zatrzymać i pomyśleć o nim. Przypuszczam, że mieliśmy podobną sytuację w naszym życiu, otrzymaliśmy łaskę Bożą. Pytanie brzmi, jak często zachowywałem ją w swoim sercu, aby uwielbiać Jezusa Chrystusa, aby odmawiać modlitwę uwielbienia? Czy moja dusza była pełna wdzięczności Bogu, najpierw? Albo zrobiłem wiele hałasu pośród siebie, aby zwrócić na siebie uwagę, że jestem tak wielki, I Bóg jest tak blisko mnie. Tak często, ten rodzaj postawy stał się sposobem na bycie dumnym i samouwielbionym.

 

Niektórzy ludzie, którym Pan dał łaskę, ćwiczyli się w pokorze, rozważając wielkie dzieła Boże w sercu. Ta sytuacja była dobrą okazją, aby być pokorniejszym, by nie robić hałasu wokół.

 

Jezus Chrystus wzywa, niech droga ciszy uczyni cię pokorniejszym. Amen.
