My place in Church... Moje miejsce w Kościele...

 

Mark 9:30-37

Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me

Jesus and his disciples made their way through Galilee; and he did not want anyone to know, because he was instructing his disciples; he was telling them, ‘The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men; they will put him to death; and three days after he has been put to death he will rise again.’ But they did not understand what he said and were afraid to ask him.

  They came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, ‘What were you arguing about on the road?’ They said nothing because they had been arguing which of them was the greatest. So he sat down, called the Twelve to him and said, ‘If anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all.’ He then took a little child, set him in front of them, put his arms round him, and said to them, ‘Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name, welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.’

    The words of Jesus Christ must have raised the astonishment in the Apostles, while the Lord marks his mission, to go to Jerusalem to be killed for the Salvation of the world. Lack of understanding cased the embarrassment in their hearts, because they expected the almightiness and honour of Jesus, as the King of everything. 

They were thinking in a way, God has come to rule over the world with power, without any weakness, and Jesus said to them, I am going to suffer. 

 

 

This confusing thinking of the Apostles led them into another problem and question, who is the most important within us? The situation has become an attitude of pride, who is first? And another amazing answer of Christ. If you want to be first, you need to be the last one and the server of everyone. 

 

The answer of Jesus causes the question for me, what about my place in Church? What do I expect from the community of believers? This is about the career, to be important in the sight of people, because I may be trustworthy to others?

 

Yes, I can use my place in Church as a space of honour and privilege, but the Lord says, the greatest joy is to give not to get. The work of the Christianity is built on service, ministry, not on career and success. Otherwise, we are not different, following the way of this world. 

 

Jesus Christ gives an example of a child. A small person needs safety and the closeness of parents. Let make our communities as the place of being saved and close to each other through our service and ministry. Amen. 

 

 

(Mk 9, 30-37) 

Jezus i Jego uczniowie przemierzali Galileę, On jednak nie chciał, żeby ktoś o tym wiedział. Pouczał bowiem swoich uczniów i mówił im: "Syn Człowieczy będzie wydany w ręce ludzi. Ci Go zabiją, lecz zabity, po trzech dniach zmartwychwstanie". Oni jednak nie rozumieli tych słów, a bali się Go pytać. Tak przyszli do Kafarnaum. Gdy był już w domu, zapytał ich: "O czym to rozprawialiście w drodze?" Lecz oni milczeli, w drodze bowiem posprzeczali się między sobą o to, kto z nich jest największy. On usiadł, przywołał Dwunastu i rzekł do nich: "Jeśli ktoś chce być pierwszym, niech będzie ostatnim ze wszystkich i sługą wszystkich". Potem wziął dziecko, postawił je przed nimi i objąwszy je ramionami, rzekł do nich: "Kto jedno z tych dzieci przyjmuje w imię moje, Mnie przyjmuje; a kto Mnie przyjmuje, nie przyjmuje Mnie, lecz Tego, który Mnie posłał".

    Słowa Jezusa Chrystusa wzbudziły zdumienie w Apostołach, podczas gdy Pan zaznacza swoją misję, aby udać się do Jerozolimy, by zostać zabitym dla zbawienia świata. Brak zrozumienia spowodował zakłopotanie w ich sercach, ponieważ oczekiwali wszechmocy i czci Jezusa, jako Króla wszystkiego.

Myśleli w pewien sposób, że Bóg przyszedł, aby rządzić światem z mocą, bez żadnej słabości, a Jezus powiedział im, że będę cierpiał.

 

To mylące myślenie Apostołów doprowadziło ich do kolejnego problemu i pytania, kto jest najważniejszy z nas? Sytuacja stała się postawą do pychy, kto jest pierwszy? I tu kolejna zdumiewająca odpowiedź Chrystusa. Jeśli chcesz być pierwszy, musisz być ostatnim i służyć wszystkim.

 

Odpowiedź Jezusa wywołuje u mnie pytanie, jakie jest moje miejsce w Kościele? Czego oczekuję od wspólnoty wierzących? Czy chodzi o karierę, bycie ważnym w oczach ludzi, ponieważ mogę być godny zaufania dla innych?

 

Tak, mogę wykorzystać swoje miejsce w Kościele jako przestrzeń honoru i przywileju, ale Pan mówi, że największą radością jest dawanie, a nie otrzymywanie. Praca chrześcijaństwa opiera się na służbie, posłudze, a nie na karierze i sukcesie. W przeciwnym razie nie jesteśmy inni, podążając drogą tego świata.

 

Jezus Chrystus daje nam przykład dziecka. Mała osoba potrzebuje bezpieczeństwa i bliskości rodziców. Uczyńmy nasze wspólnoty miejscem bycia bezpiecznym i bliskości dla siebie nawzajem poprzez naszą służbę i posługę. Amen.
