Mark 7:31-37

'He makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak'

Returning from the district of Tyre, Jesus went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, right through the Decapolis region. And they brought him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man’s ears and touched his tongue with spittle. Then looking up to heaven he sighed; and he said to him, ‘Ephphatha’, that is, ‘Be opened.’ And his ears were opened, and the ligament of his tongue was loosened and he spoke clearly. And Jesus ordered them to tell no one about it, but the more he insisted, the more widely they published it. Their admiration was unbounded. ‘He has done all things well,’ they said ‘he makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.’ 

The Gospel of Mark reports the meeting of Jesus with a deaf man, who came to him to ask for the grace of health. 

 

That man was devoid of hearing, which is so important for us, to communicate to each other. The act of healing made him a fully worthy man, who could function in the society. 

 

What happened later, the Lord said; go and keep for yourself of what has been done in your life. Go and meditate and glorify God in your heart, in silence. Unfortunately, the man did not use the chance to do that. Immediately, he was to announce to everyone about his healing. 

 

Meditating this fragment of the Gospel, it worthy to stop and think about it. I suppose, we have had the same situation in our life, been granted of God’s grace. The question is, how often I kept it in my heart, to glorify Jesus Christ, to do a prayer of worship? Was my soul full of gratitude to God, first. Or I have done a lot of noise among me, to gain the attention, that I am so great, and God is so close to me. So often, this kind of attitude has become a way of being pride.

 

Some people, who were granted by the Lord, they exercised themselves in humility, meditating the great works of God in them. This situation was a good opportunity to be humbler, no to make a noise around. 

 

Jesus Christ is calling is, may the way of secret and silence make you meeker. Amen. 

 

 

(Mk 7, 31-37) 
Jezus opuścił okolice Tyru i przez Sydon przyszedł nad Jezioro Galilejskie, przemierzając posiadłości Dekapolu. Przyprowadzili Mu głuchoniemego i prosili Go, żeby położył na niego rękę. On wziął go na bok, z dala od tłumu, włożył palce w jego uszy i śliną dotknął mu języka; a spojrzawszy w niebo, westchnął i rzekł do niego: "Effatha", to znaczy: Otwórz się. Zaraz otworzyły się jego uszy, więzy języka się rozwiązały i mógł prawidłowo mówić. Jezus przykazał im, żeby nikomu nie mówili. Lecz im bardziej przykazywał, tym gorliwiej to rozgłaszali. I przepełnieni zdumieniem mówili: "Dobrze wszystko uczynił. Nawet głuchym słuch przywraca i niemym mowę".

Ewangelia Marka opowiada o spotkaniu Jezusa z głuchym człowiekiem, który przyszedł do Niego, aby prosić o łaskę zdrowia.

 

Ten człowiek był pozbawiony słuchu, co jest dla nas tak ważne, aby móc się ze sobą komunikować. Akt uzdrowienia uczynił go w pełni godnym człowiekiem, który mógł funkcjonować w społeczeństwie.

 

Co wydarzyło się później, Pan powiedział; idź i zachowaj dla siebie to, co zostało uczynione w twoim życiu. Idź, rozważaj i uwielbiaj Boga w swoim sercu, w ciszy. Niestety, człowiek ten nie wykorzystał okazji, aby to zrobić. Natychmiast miał ogłosić wszystkim o swoim uzdrowieniu.

 

Rozważając ten fragment Ewangelii, warto się zatrzymać i pomyśleć o nim. Przypuszczam, że mieliśmy podobną sytuację w naszym życiu, otrzymaliśmy łaskę Bożą. Pytanie brzmi, jak często zachowywałem ją w swoim sercu, aby uwielbiać Jezusa Chrystusa, aby odmawiać modlitwę uwielbienia? Czy moja dusza była pełna wdzięczności Bogu, najpierw? Albo zrobiłem wiele hałasu pośród siebie, aby zwrócić na siebie uwagę, że jestem tak wielki, I Bóg jest tak blisko mnie. Tak często, ten rodzaj postawy stał się sposobem na bycie dumnym i samouwielbionym.

 

Niektórzy ludzie, którym Pan dał łaskę, ćwiczyli się w pokorze, rozważając wielkie dzieła Boże w sercu. Ta sytuacja była dobrą okazją, aby być pokorniejszym, by nie robić hałasu wokół.

 

Jezus Chrystus wzywa, niech droga ciszy uczyni cię pokorniejszym. Amen.
