John 17:20-26 Father, may they be completely one Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said: ‘Holy Father, I pray not only for these, but for those also who through their words will believe in me. May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me. I have given them the glory you gave to me, that they may be one as we are one. With me in them and you in me, may they be so completely one that the world will realise that it was you who sent me and that I have loved them as much as you loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may always see the glory you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Father, Righteous One, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. I have made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so...

If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong to the world, because my choice withdrew you from the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as well. But it will be on my account that they will do all this, because they do not know the one who sent me.’    The Gospel of John for the VI Sunday of Easter presents the words of Jesus who says: I give you the real peace, not that, which is given by the world, but mine, this is my gift for you.    These words make a lot of sense today, while we are experiencing such a difficult time – war in Europe, lack of understandin...

John 13:31-33,34-35 In the Son of Man, God has been glorified When Judas had gone Jesus said: ‘Now has the Son of Man been glorified, and in him God has been glorified. If God has been glorified in him, God will in turn glorify him in himself, and will glorify him very soon. ‘My little children, I shall not be with you much longer. I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples.’ I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. J 13,           While I am reading these words of today's Gospel of John, it reminds me about another chapter of the same Gospel – chapter 21. It tells the story of Jesus, who appeared at the Lake of Galilee after His Resurrection. The Lord met the apostles and told them to cast their net, so that...

I give them eternal life; they will never be lost and no one will ever steal them from me. The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone, and no one can steal from the Father. The Father and I are one.’    Today, on the Forth Sunday of Easter, we celebrate The Sunday of the Good Shepherd. The Mother Church indicates One, Eternal and Holy Shepherd, Jesus Christ. His is the High Priest, who is offering himself on the Eucharistic Altar. He is the source of life, and the Guide for us, he leads us to the joy of Heaven. According to the Gospel of John, we belong to him, his voice is leading us to endless goodness, and protects us of every evil.      The initiative of this Sunday was undertaken by Pope Paul VI in 1964. The Holy Father made the IV Sunday of Easter, as the Sund...
