Father, may they be completely one
Reading today’s Gospel of John, we may have impression that Jesus is praying for the future of the Church, for those who thank of his words have believed in the only God.
Jesus prays for the unity of believers, which is the fundament of the Church, to be able to get to know the Father and the Son.
Of course, the first imagination is about the ecumenism of the Christianity, but nowadays we see some disturbing situation, while the unity of the Catholic Church is in danger. In prayer of Christ, we can see the concern of him, the Holy Spirit leads to the complete truth, the Father and the Son are one.
We are over billion of Catholics in the world, having different culture, customs, and history, but what unites us is the teaching and tradition of the Church. We have over 2000 history behind, many authorities and scholars, who provided and discovered the will of God. In the Church is contained the whole wisdom of God.
Unfortunately, today we have temptation to discredit it, saying we live in a different time, which is true, but some matters of faith are untouchable and timeless.
There are some opinions, God must be changed to us, not us to God. Another thing, leaving God’s commandments is the way to fulfil own egoism and expectations. Therefore, it’s easier and nicer to life without commandments, and so often God’s rules disturb to live freely and “better”. But this is the way to egoism.
I have noticed, some strange reaction of people, when I want to explain, what the teaching is about, some Catholics react with anger and sometimes with aggression, that the church and priest are not merciful, interrupting on the personal way to God.
On the other hand, the priest is the minister of God, and as St. Peter said to the Jews, it better to listen to God, than to people. There is not alternative to listen to God or people, although the voice of people is becoming more popular, but as the priest, first I must listen to God.
We cannot sacrifice God’s will and wisdom and the Catholic faith and teaching for the sake of man’s desire and expectation.
This is the prayer about of our Master, to be one in the community and belief, to keep deposit of the truth catholic magisterium as the treasure of the 2000 years. God is the core of our Christian family, not human will. Jesus, make us one with your Father and you. Amen.
W czasie Ostatniej Wieczerzy Jezus, podniósłszy oczy ku niebu, modlił się tymi słowami:
«Ojcze Święty, nie tylko za nimi proszę, ale i za tymi, którzy dzięki ich słowu będą wierzyć we Mnie; aby wszyscy stanowili jedno, jak Ty, Ojcze, we Mnie, a Ja w Tobie, aby i oni stanowili w Nas jedno, by świat uwierzył, że Ty Mnie posłałeś.
I także chwałę, którą Mi dałeś, przekazałem im, aby stanowili jedno, tak jak My jedno stanowimy. Ja w nich, a Ty we Mnie! Oby się tak zespolili w jedno, aby świat poznał, że Ty Mnie posłałeś i że Ty ich umiłowałeś, tak jak Mnie umiłowałeś.
Ojcze, chcę, aby także ci, których Mi dałeś, byli ze Mną tam, gdzie Ja jestem, aby widzieli chwałę moją, którą Mi dałeś, bo umiłowałeś Mnie przed założeniem świata.
Ojcze sprawiedliwy! Świat Ciebie nie poznał, lecz Ja Ciebie poznałem, i oni poznali, że Ty Mnie posłałeś. Objawiłem im Twoje imię i nadal będę objawiał, aby miłość, którą Ty Mnie umiłowałeś, w nich była i Ja w nich».
Czytając dzisiejszą Ewangelię Jana możemy odnieść wrażenie, że Jezus modli się o przyszłość Kościoła, aby ci, którzy dzięki Jego słowom, uwierzyli w jedynego Boga.
Jezus modli się o jedność wierzących, która jest fundamentem Kościoła, aby oni mogli poznać Ojca i Syna.
Oczywiście pierwsza wyobrażenie może dotyczy ekumenizmu w chrześcijaństwie, ale obecnie widzimy niepokojącą sytuację, gdy jedność Kościoła katolickiego jest zagrożona. W modlitwie Chrystusa widzimy troskę o Niego, aby Duch Święty doprowadzi do pełnej prawdy, że Ojciec i Syn są jednym.
Jest nas ponad miliardem katolików na świecie, o różnej kulturze, obyczajach i historii, ale to co nas łączy, to nauczanie i tradycja Kościoła. Mamy za sobą ponad 2000 historii, wielu autorytetów i uczonych, którzy dostarczyli nam i odkryli wolę Bożą. W Kościele zawarta jest cała mądrość Boża.
Niestety dzisiaj mamy pokusę, by to zdyskredytować, mówiąc, że żyjemy w innym czasie, to prawda, ale niektóre sprawy wiary nie są nietykalne i ponadczasowe.
Widać kilka opinii, Bóg musi się zmienić dla nas, a nie my dla Boga. Odejście od przykazań Bożych to sposób na spełnienie własnego egoizmu i oczekiwań. Dlatego życie bez przykazań jest łatwiejsze i przyjemniejsze, a tak często zasady Boże przeszkadzają żyć swobodnie i „lepiej”. Ale to droga do egoizmu.
Zauważyłem jakaś dziwną reakcja ludzi, gdy chcę wyjaśnić, o czym jest nauczanie Chrystusa, niektórzy katolicy reagują gniewem, a czasem agresją, że kościół i ksiądz nie są miłosierni, przeszkadzając w osobistej drodze do Boga.
Z drugiej strony kapłan jest sługą Bożym i jak św. Piotr powiedział Żydom, lepiej słuchać Boga niż ludzi. Nie ma alternatywy dla słuchania Boga albo ludzi, choć głos ludzi staje się coraz bardziej popularny, ale jako kapłan muszę najpierw słuchać Boga.
Nie możemy poświęcić woli i mądrości Bożej, wiary i nauczania katolickiego w imię pragnień i oczekiwań człowieka.
To jest modlitwa naszego Mistrza, abyśmy byli jednością we wspólnocie i wierze, aby przechowywał w sobie katolickie magisterium jako skarb 2000 lat. Bóg jest rdzeniem naszej chrześcijańskiej rodziny, a nie ludzka wola. Jezu, uczyń nas jednym z Twoim Ojcem i Tobą. Amen.
19 lat temu razem z moimi 11 przyjaciółmi, 29 maja 2003, zostałem księdzem Kościoła. Dziękuję za Waszą modlitwę i wsparcie, proszę o więcej modlitwy, bym mógł być kapłanem Chrystusa. Dziękuję, Szczęść Boże Wszystkim.
