In the Son of Man, God has been glorified
I give you a new commandment:
love one another;
just as I have loved you,
you also must love one another. J 13,
While I am reading these words of today's Gospel of John, it reminds me about another chapter of the same Gospel – chapter 21. It tells the story of Jesus, who appeared at the Lake of Galilee after His Resurrection. The Lord met the apostles and told them to cast their net, so that they will catch something. Saint Peter and his companions caught 153 fish. That number is not accidental, because the number 153 in the Hebrew language means the Church of love.
The same thing happens today. Jesus Christ tells us about love. These two stories, although happened in different time, indicate the love and respect of the communion of believers.
The commandment of love is fundamental for the whole Church because the Lord loves us all and encourages us to do the same.
Why? Because in love we may find the whole good and respect of every man. Only good persuades those who are full of hatred to change their life.
It seems to be an illusion, because we live without trust and good will, but full of willingness to revenge. We trust nobody. All that many people want is revenge, and we are hostile to each other.
Today we are the witnesses of cruelty in Ukraine what evokes a lot of negative feelings.
We are broken, conflicted, but Jesus tells us: My communion should be built on the foundation of love and respect.
It good that we can show compassion to those who suffer but we should also remember about compassion and respect for all those people around us.
I think this is the key for all of us. The words of Jesus about love and respect are the last chance to avoid getting into even worse situation, when one side or another is full of hatred and hostility. We cannot fight fire with fire but with love.
Today's world and the Church need reconciliation in the name of consent, so that we can abandon “killing” both spiritually and physically.
The words of Christ are not aimed at resigning from justice and truth but warn us before hatred and "killing each other".
Blind hatred kills. In this world, the cure for suffering is real love. And the real love is God.
The best example is Jesus Christ on the cross. He said: "Father forgive them, because they do not know, what they are doing".
It is a very difficult task, especially as we are witnesses of a lot of evil. But these words of Jesus Christ may save us from hatred and "killing each other".
I believe that finally justice, truth, love, and respect will win.
The essential words of the Lord are; by the attitude of love, people are able to recognize you as my disciples.
The truth and love will set us free. Amen.

Po wyjściu Judasza z wieczernika Jezus powiedział: ”Syn Człowieczy został teraz uwielbiony, a w Nim został Bóg uwielbiony. Jeżeli Bóg został w Nim uwielbiony, to Bóg uwielbi Go także w sobie samym, i zaraz Go uwielbi. Dzieci, jeszcze krótko - jestem z wami. Będziecie Mnie szukać, ale - jak to Żydom powiedziałem, tak i teraz wam mówię - dokąd Ja idę, wy pójść nie możecie. Daję wam przykazanie nowe, abyście się wzajemnie miłowali, tak jak Ja was umiłowałem; żebyście i wy tak się miłowali wzajemnie. Po tym wszyscy poznają, żeście uczniami moimi, jeśli będziecie się wzajemnie miłowali”.

Kiedy czytamy te słowa z dzisiejszej Ewangelii Jana, przypomnimy sobie inny rozdział tej samej Ewangelii – rozdział 21. Opowiada on historię Jezusa, który pojawił się nad Jeziorem Galilejskim po swoim Zmartwychwstaniu. Pan spotkał Apostołów i kazał im zarzucić sieć, aby coś złowili. Święty Piotr i jego towarzysze złowili 153 ryb. Liczba ta nie jest przypadkowa, bo liczba 153 w języku hebrajskim oznacza Kościół miłości.
To samo dzieje się dzisiaj. Jezus Chrystus mówi nam o miłości. Te dwie historie, choć wydarzyły się w różnym czasie, wskazują na miłość i szacunek dla komunii wierzących.
Przykazanie miłości jest fundamentalne dla całego Kościoła, ponieważ Pan kocha nas wszystkich i zachęca nas do tego samego.
Czemu? Bo w miłości możemy znaleźć całe dobro i szacunek każdego człowieka. Tylko dobro przekonuje pełnych nienawiści ludzi do zmiany swojego życia.
Wydaje się to złudzeniem, bo żyjemy bez zaufania i dobrej woli, pełni chęci zemsty. Nikomu nie ufamy. Jedyne, czego wielu ludzi pragnie, to zemsta, wrogo do siebie nastawieni.
Dziś jesteśmy świadkami okrucieństwa, wojny na Ukrainie, naturalnie odczuwając nienawiść.
Jesteśmy poranieni, skonfliktowani i Jezus mówi nam: Moja komunia powinna być budowana na fundamencie miłości i szacunku.
Ciekawe jest to, jednocześnie współczujemy tym, którzy cierpią z daleka, a mamy uczucia braku szacunku dla innych, będących blisko.
Myślę, że to jest klucz do nas wszystkich. Słowa Jezusa o miłości i szacunku są ostatnią szansą na uniknięcie jeszcze gorszej sytuacji, kiedy jedna lub druga strona jest pełna nienawiści i wrogości. Nie możemy gasić ognia ogniem, tak samo nie potrafimy rozładować konfliktu przemocą.
Dzisiejszy świat i Kościół potrzebują pojednania w imię zgody, abyśmy mogli porzucić „zabijanie” zarówno duchowo, jak i fizycznie.
Słowa Chrystusa nie mają na celu rezygnacji ze sprawiedliwości i prawdy, ale ostrzegają nas przed nienawiścią i „zabijaniem się nawzajem”.
Ślepa nienawiść zabija. Na tym świecie lekarstwem na cierpienie jest prawdziwa miłość. Prawdziwą miłością jest Bóg.
