John 3:16-18

God sent his Son so that through him the world might be saved

Jesus said to Nicodemus:

‘God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son,

so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost

but may have eternal life.

For God sent his Son into the world

not to condemn the world,

but so that through him the world might be saved.

No one who believes in him will be condemned;

but whoever refuses to believe is condemned already,

because he has refused to believe in the name of God’s only Son.’

Today's Gospel reminds us about the nature of the Holy Trinity. Whatever God does, it is always in unity with the remaining Persons of the Holy Trinity. Today, we may also ask ourselves a question about the nature of God. How is it possible that one God is in three persons. From the mathematical point of view it is impossible. One person can never be three; it is a contradiction and the great mystery of our faith. Despite the development of technology and knowledge, we will never fully understand the nature of God. But there is one way to understand the Trinity of God – we must realize that God has the same nature, as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Every person is God. 

To understand more, we should return to our baptism. We were baptised in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So, the Holy Trinity is with us from the beginning of our life. We received God’s Grace, because we were baptized in His name. 

It is worth to focus more on the relationship between God and people. 

We were created. Our parents gave us the gift of life, but God the Father took part in this work of creation as the Giver of life. This what we call the miracle of God’s nature. We were created in the image of God.

We should also remember that any creation needs salvation. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, offered His life for salvation and resurrected in order to wash away our sins. Saint Paul wrote in the Letter to the Ephesians: 

Thus he chose us in Christ before the world was made to be holy and faultless before him in love, marking us out for himself beforehand, to be adopted sons, through Jesus Christ. Such was his purpose and good pleasure, to the praise of the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved. Ef 1, 3-6

The Holy Spirit calls us to be saints. Because we were redeemed by Christ, the search for sanctity should be our Christian’s goal.  The Holy Spirit is the Giver of live and the life that He gives is saint. He sanctifies it through sacraments. 

These gifts are the evidence of God’s presence and also an opportunity to follow God. He gave us the sacraments which can sanctify us. 

Indeed, God lives in us. The same God whose nature is so difficult to understand fills any human life with the amazing grace of the Holy Trinity. 

Let this common prayer become our way to worship God, Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. 

(J 3, 16-18) 
Jezus powiedział do Nikodema: "Tak Bóg umiłował świat, że Syna swego Jednorodzonego dał, aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, nie zginął, ale miał życie wieczne. Albowiem Bóg nie posłał swego Syna na świat po to, aby świat potępił, ale po to, by świat został przez Niego zbawiony. Kto wierzy w Niego, nie podlega potępieniu; a kto nie wierzy, już został potępiony, bo nie uwierzył w imię Jednorodzonego Syna Bożego".

Dzisiejsza Ewangelia przypomina nam o naturze Świętej Trójcy. Cokolwiek Bóg czyni, zawsze pozostaje w jedności z pozostałymi Osobami Trójcy Świętej. Dzisiaj możemy również zadać sobie pytanie o naturę Boga. Jak to możliwe, że Jeden Bóg jest w Trzech Osobach. Z matematycznego punktu widzenia jest to niemożliwe. Jedna osoba nigdy nie może być trójcą; jest to matematyczna sprzeczność, ale i wielka tajemnica naszej wiary. Pomimo rozwoju technologii i wiedzy, nigdy nie będziemy w pełni rozumieć natury Boga tutaj na ziemi.  Jest jeden niewielki sposób na zrozumienie Trójcy Bożej, choć trochę - musimy pojąć, że Bóg ma tę samą naturę, jako Ojciec, Syn i Duch Święty. Każda osoba jest Bogiem.

Aby zrozumieć więcej, powinniśmy powrócić do naszego chrztu. Zostaliśmy ochrzczeni w imię Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego. Tak więc Święta Trójca jest z nami od samego początku naszego życia. Otrzymaliśmy Łaskę Bożą, ponieważ zostaliśmy ochrzczeni w Jego imię.

Warto bardziej skupić się na relacji między Bogiem a ludźmi.

Zostaliśmy stworzeni, nasi rodzice dali nam dar życia, ale Bóg Ojciec brał udział w tym dziele stworzenia jako Dawca życia. Zostaliśmy zrodzeni na obraz Boga.

Powinniśmy także pamiętać, że każde stworzenie potrzebuje zbawienia. Jezus Chrystus, Syn Boży, ofiarował swoje życie za nasze zbawienie i zmartwychwstał, aby zmyć grzechy. Święty Paweł napisał w Liście do Efezjan:

Niech będzie błogosławiony Bóg i Ojciec Pana naszego Jezusa Chrystusa, 
On napełnił nas wszelkim błogosławieństwem duchowym 
na wyżynach niebieskich - w Chrystusie. 

 W Nim bowiem wybrał nas przed założeniem świata, 
abyśmy byli święci i nieskalani przed Jego obliczem. 
Z miłości  przeznaczył nas dla siebie jako przybranych synów przez Jezusa Chrystusa, 
według postanowienia swej woli, 
 ku chwale majestatu swej łaski, 
którą obdarzył nas w Umiłowanym. Ef 1, 3-6

Duch Święty wzywa nas, abyśmy byli świętymi. Ponieważ Chrystus odkupił nas, poszukiwanie świętości powinno być celem naszego chrześcijanina. Duch Święty jest Dawcą życia, a życie, które On daje, jest święte. On uświęca je przez sakramenty.

Te dary są dowodem obecności Boga, a także okazją do naśladowania Boga. On dał nam sakramenty, które mogą nas uświęcić.

Rzeczywiście, Bóg żyje w nas. Ten sam Bóg, którego natura jest tak trudna do zrozumienia. On napełnia nasze życie ludzkie niesamowitą łaską Trójcy Świętej.

Niech ta wspólna modlitwa stanie się naszym sposobem oddawania czci Bogu, Chwała Ojcu i Synowi i Duchowi Świętemu, jak to było na początku, jest teraz i zawsze i na wieki wieków.
