The Unity of God.... Jedność Boża...

 

John 12:20-33

If a grain of wheat falls on the ground and dies, it yields a rich harvest

Among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. These approached Philip, who came from Bethsaida in Galilee, and put this request to him, ‘Sir, we should like to see Jesus.’ Philip went to tell Andrew, and Andrew and Philip together went to tell Jesus. Jesus replied to them:

‘Now the hour has come

for the Son of Man to be glorified.

I tell you, most solemnly,

unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies,

it remains only a single grain;

but if it dies,

it yields a rich harvest.

Anyone who loves his life loses it;

anyone who hates his life in this world

will keep it for the eternal life.

If a man serves me, he must follow me,

wherever I am, my servant will be there too.

If anyone serves me, my Father will honour him.

Now my soul is troubled.

What shall I say:

Father, save me from this hour?

But it was for this very reason that I have come to this hour.

Father, glorify your name!’

A voice came from heaven, ‘I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.’ People standing by, who heard this, said it was a clap of thunder; others said, ‘It was an angel speaking to him.’ Jesus answered, ‘It was not for my sake that this voice came, but for yours.

‘Now sentence is being passed on this world;

now the prince of this world is to be overthrown.

And when I am lifted up from the earth,

I shall draw all men to myself.’

By these words he indicated the kind of death he would die.

    Every day we get closer to the celebration of the Paschal Mysteries of our faith – the Passion, death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today, we read the passage from the Gospel of John, when during one Jewish festival the Lord revealed the truth about His mission and work. Of course, He did not mention the cross, but we all know that the redemption took place on it. 

 

That part of the John’s Gospel has become a statement of Christ. Jesus makes it clear: I have come because that was the will of my Heavenly Father. I testify myself what is my Father’s will. We may notice the truth – Jesus is completely united with God. Chris is the real icon of the Father.  

 

 

How does His unity with God look like? The person and the mission of Jesus is submitted to the First Person of the Holy Trinity. We have clear evidence that Christ is united with Father. He understood that whatever he does, is a testimony of God’s plan. 

 

Even human feelings are submitted to the Lord. Practically, every element of Jesus’ life was devoted to the Father. 

 

The whole history of the Redemption shows extraordinary commitment between Christ and the Father. 

 

Jesus never kept anything for himself, His work, preaching, joy and suffering were given to God, because they are one in their divine nature and love. 

 

This is a great advice for us. If we want to imitate our Saviour, we should do the same. We should offer our life to God. 

 

While we reflect on the unity of Jesus Christ and us to the Father, we need to reach for the words of his Son. The Lord said, he is lifted on a cross, he shall gather the whole humanity. These words refer about the Church, which has been born from the Cross and Death of our Saviour. The Community of believers is built on the Rock (Peter, today Pope Francis), but the Head is the Son of God. Jesus Christ was praying for the unity of his Body (Church). 

 

Today in terms of many changes and of the modern world, we are more welcome to pray for the unity with God, the Pope, and the brothers and sisters. So often we stand in the face of pressure, we should be reformatted, more open to the streams of the modernity, even at the price of changing of the teaching and dogmas. We see something, what is worrying, about the antagonisms within the church. Those people, who have the same baptism, they fight to each other. All these things make a lot of confusion and commotion. We need the truth, which is Jesus Christ himself. He is completely obedient to the Father, as we ought to.   

 

Let us try to be united with the Lord through our work, good testimony, joy, and suffering. Why? In terms to Jesus, who is offered for us. Amen.

Wśród tych, którzy przybyli, aby oddać pokłon Bogu w czasie święta, byli też niektórzy Grecy. Oni więc przystąpili do Filipa, pochodzącego z Betsaidy Galilejskiej, i prosili go, mówiąc: „Panie, chcemy ujrzeć Jezusa”. Filip poszedł i powiedział Andrzejowi. Z kolei Andrzej i Filip poszli i powiedzieli Jezusowi. A Jezus dał im taką odpowiedź: „Nadeszła godzina, aby został uwielbiony Syn Człowieczy. Zaprawdę, zaprawdę powiadam wam: Jeżeli ziarno pszenicy wpadłszy w ziemię nie obumrze, zostanie tylko samo, ale jeżeli obumrze, przynosi plon obfity. Ten, kto miłuje swoje życie, traci je, a kto nienawidzi swego życia na tym świecie, zachowa je na życie wieczne. A kto by chciał Mi służyć, niech idzie za Mną, a gdzie Ja jestem, tam będzie i mój sługa. A jeśli ktoś Mi służy, uczci go mój Ojciec. Teraz dusza moja doznała lęku i cóż mam powiedzieć? Ojcze, wybaw Mnie od tej godziny. Nie, właśnie dlatego przyszedłem na tę godzinę. Ojcze, uwielbij imię Twoje”. Wtem rozległ się głos z nieba: „I uwielbiłem, i znowu uwielbię”. Tłum stojący usłyszał to i mówił: „Zagrzmiało!” Inni mówili: „Anioł przemówił do Niego”. Na to rzekł Jezus: „Głos ten rozległ się nie ze względu na Mnie, ale ze względu na was. Teraz odbywa się sąd nad tym światem. Teraz władca tego świata zostanie precz wyrzucony. A Ja, gdy zostanę nad ziemię wywyższony, przyciągnę wszystkich do siebie”. To powiedział zaznaczając, jaką śmiercią miał umrzeć.

    Z każdym dniem przybliżamy się do celebracji tajemnic paschalnych naszej wiary – Męki, Śmierci i Zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa. Czytamy dziś fragment Ewangelii Jana, gdzie podczas jednego z żydowskich świąt Pan objawił prawdę o swojej misji i dziele. Oczywiście On nie wspomniał o krzyżu, ale wszyscy wiemy, że na nim dokonało się odkupienie.

 

Jezus wyjaśnia: przyszedłem, bo taka była wola mojego Ojca Niebieskiego. Świadczę o Sobie i pokazuję jaka jest wola mojego Ojca. Możemy dostrzec prawdę – Jezus jest całkowicie zjednoczony z Bogiem. Chrystus jest prawdziwą ikoną Ojca.

 

 

Jak wygląda Jego jedność z Bogiem? Osoba i misja Jezusa są podporządkowane Pierwszej Osobie Trójcy Świętej. Mamy wyraźny dowód na to, że Chrystus jest zjednoczony z Ojcem.  On rozumiał, że cokolwiek robi, jest świadectwem Bożego planu.

 

Nawet ludzkie uczucia są podporządkowane Panu. Praktycznie każdy element życia Jezusa był poświęcony Ojcu.

 

Cała historia Odkupienia ukazuje niezwykłe zaangażowanie Chrystusa i Ojca.

 

Jezus nigdy niczego nie zatrzymywał dla siebie, Jego dzieło, nauczanie, radość i cierpienie zostały oddane Bogu, ponieważ stanowią jedno w swojej boskiej naturze i miłości.

 

To jest dla nas pożyteczna rada. Jeśli chcemy naśladować naszego Zbawiciela, powinniśmy zrobić to samo, ofiarowując swoje życie Bogu.

 

Zastanawiając się nad jednością Jezusa Chrystusa z Ojcem, warto sięgnąć po słowa Zbawiciela. Pan powiedział, że zostanie uniesiony na krzyżu i zgromadzi całą ludzkość. Te słowa odnoszą się do Kościoła, który narodził się z Krzyża i Śmierci naszego Zbawiciela. Wspólnota wierzących jest zbudowana na Skale (Piotr, dziś papież Franciszek), ale Głową jest Syn Boży. Jezus Chrystus modlił się o jedność swojego Ciała (Kościoła).

 

Dzisiaj w kontekście wielu zmian i współczesnego świata, jesteśmy bardziej zaproszeni do modlitwy o jedność z Bogiem, Papieżem i braćmi. Często stajemy pod presją, powinniśmy się zreformować, bardziej otworzyć na nurty nowoczesności, nawet za cenę zmiany nauczania i dogmatów. Widzimy coś niepokojącego w antagonizmach wewnątrz Kościoła. Ci ludzie, którzy mają ten sam chrzest, walczą ze sobą. Wszystko to powoduje wiele zamieszania. Potrzebujemy prawdy, którą jest sam Jezus Chrystus. On jest całkowicie posłuszny Ojcu, tak jak i my powinniśmy.

 

Starajmy się jednoczyć z Panem poprzez naszą pracę, dobre świadectwo, radość i cierpienie. W jakim celu? Podążając za przykładem Jezusa, który jest ofiarowany za nas. Amen.
