The authority of Jesus... Autorytet Jezusa...

 

Mark 1:21-28

Unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority

Jesus and his disciples went as far as Capernaum, and as soon as the sabbath came he went to the synagogue and began to teach. And his teaching made a deep impression on them because, unlike the scribes, he taught them with authority.

  In their synagogue just then there was a man possessed by an unclean spirit and it shouted, ‘What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.’ But Jesus said sharply, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and with a loud cry went out of him. The people were so astonished that they started asking each other what it all meant. ‘Here is a teaching that is new’ they said ‘and with authority behind it: he gives orders even to unclean spirits and they obey him.’ And his reputation rapidly spread everywhere, through all the surrounding Galilean countryside.

    In the today’s Gospel of Mark, we can meet with Jesus in Capernaum which was the city of Peter at the shore of the Tyre Lake. Christ with His Apostles and disciples went to the Synagogue of the city, as usual on a Sabbath day, to read the Lord’s words and meditate them. 

 

When they were together something spectacular happened, because Jesus, as the Son of God, cured a man who was possessed by the evil spirit. He revealed His God’s dignity to the people around Him. 

 

All these people were astonished because they had never seen such things before. That moment and the situation in the Synagogue made them aware, because in one moment, the man was cured and freed from evil.  

 

Mark the Evangelist indicates one word: the authority. People in Capernaum saw Christ as a person of authority and clarity. In their hearts they realised that no one had such authority and power before. Why? Of course, the ability to cure the man was in Him, because He was the Son of God. But we need to say that His esteem and authority came from His loving heart and pure mind. 

Jesus Christ was transparent, there was no shadow of pose in Him, there was no place for compromise, evil and conformism, but His heart was full of compassion and constantly readiness to help. 

 

If we notice that the teaching of Jesus is the truth, we can understand, that the authority of our faith is about God. Yes, Christ is the core and the key to our faith. It is worth to reach for that truth when someone wants to challenge the whole concept of Christianity, saying that the whole conviction to Jesus is only a product of our imagination. 

 

No. Our relationship to God is real. We believe in God, and we can be sure that Jesus Himself confirms the truth of the faith.

 

Today we need the certain direction, while we face with many confusions. What was about the common sense, today has been undermined as something non-existing or old-fashioned way of thinking or doing. Jesus Christ and his Church say, you are on the right way, even if someone would say, no you must change your mind. 

 

Let us look at Jesus and make our Christian’s life certain and convincing to others, may our life be full of the authority of Jesus Christ. Amen.

W mieście Kafarnaum Jezus w szabat wszedł do synagogi i nauczał. Zdumiewali się Jego nauką; uczył ich bowiem jak ten, który ma władzę, a nie jak uczeni w Piśmie. Był właśnie w synagodze człowiek opętany przez ducha nieczystego. Zaczął on wołać: „Czego chcesz od nas, Jezusie Nazarejczyku? Przyszedłeś nas zgubić. Wiem, kto jesteś: Święty Boży”. Lecz Jezus rozkazał mu surowo: „Milcz i wyjdź z niego”. Wtedy duch nieczysty zaczął go targać i z głośnym krzykiem wyszedł z niego. A wszyscy się zdumieli, tak że jeden drugiego pytał: „Co to jest? Nowa jakaś nauka z mocą. Nawet duchom nieczystym rozkazuje i są mu posłuszne”. I wnet rozeszła się wieść o Nim wszędzie po całej okolicznej krainie galilejskiej.

W dzisiejszej Ewangelii Marka możemy spotkać się z Jezusem w Kafarnaum, czyli mieście Piotra położonym nad brzegiem Jeziora Tyrskiego. Chrystus wraz ze swoimi Apostołami i uczniami udał się jak zwykle w dzień szabatu do synagogi miejskiej, aby czytać słowa Pana i je rozważać.

 

Kiedy byli razem, wydarzyło się coś spektakularnego, ponieważ Jezus jako Syn Boży uzdrowił człowieka opętanego przez złego ducha. Objawił swoją godność Boga otaczającym go ludziom.

 

Wszyscy ci ludzie byli zdumieni, ponieważ nigdy wcześniej nie widzieli czegoś podobnego. Ta chwila i sytuacja w synagodze uświadomiła im, że w jednej chwili człowiek został uzdrowiony i uwolniony od zła.

 

Marek Ewangelista wskazuje na jedno słowo: władzę. Mieszkańcy Kafarnaum postrzegali Chrystusa jako osobę mającą władzę. W głębi serca zdali sobie sprawę, że nikt wcześniej nie miał takiej mocy. Dlaczego? Oczywiście, zdolność uzdrowienia człowieka była w Nim, ponieważ był Synem Bożym. Musimy jednak powiedzieć, że Jego szacunek i autorytet wypływają z Jego kochającego serca i czystego umysłu.

Jezus Chrystus był przejrzysty, nie było w Nim cienia pozy i miejsca na kompromis, zło i konformizm, ale Jego serce jest pełne współczucia i stale gotowe do pomocy.

 

Zauważmy, że nauczanie Jezusa jest prawdą, zrozumiejmy, że autorytetem naszej wiary jest Bóg. Tak, Chrystus jest rdzeniem i kluczem naszej wiary. Warto sięgnąć po tę prawdę, gdy ktoś chce podważyć całą koncepcję chrześcijaństwa, twierdząc, że całe przekonanie do Jezusa jest jedynie wytworem naszej wyobraźni.

 

Nie. Nasza więź z Bogiem jest prawdziwa. Wierzymy w Boga i możemy być pewni, że sam Jezus potwierdza prawdziwość wiary.

 

Dziś potrzebny jest nam ten określony kierunek, choć mamy do czynienia z wieloma niejasnościami. To co dotyczyło zdrowego rozsądku, dziś zostało podważone jako coś nieistniejącego lub staromodnym sposobem myślenia i działania. Jezus Chrystus i Jego Kościół mówią: jesteś na dobrej drodze, nawet gdyby ktoś powiedział, że musisz zmienić zdanie i sposób myślenia.

 

Spoglądajmy na Jezusa i uczyńmy życie naszego chrześcijanina pewnym i przekonującym dla innych, niech nasze życie będzie pełna autorytetu Jezusa Chrystusa. Amen.
