John 21:1-19

Jesus stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish

Jesus showed himself again to the disciples. It was by the Sea of Tiberias, and it happened like this: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee and two more of his disciples were together. Simon Peter said, ‘I’m going fishing.’ They replied, ‘We’ll come with you.’ They went out and got into the boat but caught nothing that night.

  It was light by now and there stood Jesus on the shore, though the disciples did not realise that it was Jesus. Jesus called out, ‘Have you caught anything, friends?’ And when they answered, ‘No’, he said, ‘Throw the net out to starboard and you’ll find something.’ So they dropped the net, and there were so many fish that they could not haul it in. The disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord.’ At these words ‘It is the Lord’, Simon Peter, who had practically nothing on, wrapped his cloak round him and jumped into the water. The other disciples came on in the boat, towing the net and the fish; they were only about a hundred yards from land.

  As soon as they came ashore they saw that there was some bread there, and a charcoal fire with fish cooking on it. Jesus said, ‘Bring some of the fish you have just caught.’ Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net to the shore, full of big fish, one hundred and fifty-three of them; and in spite of there being so many the net was not broken. Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ None of the disciples was bold enough to ask, ‘Who are you?’; they knew quite well it was the Lord. Jesus then stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and the same with the fish. This was the third time that Jesus showed himself to the disciples after rising from the dead.

  After the meal Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?’ He answered, ‘Yes Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Look after my sheep.’ Then he said to him a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was upset that he asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and said, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.

‘I tell you most solemnly,

when you were young

you put on your own belt

and walked where you liked;

but when you grow old

you will stretch out your hands,

and somebody else will put a belt round you

and take you where you would rather not go.’

In these words he indicated the kind of death by which Peter would give glory to God. After this he said, ‘Follow me.’

   The whole time of Easter orients the sacrament of baptism and the Universal Church. But, looking at the situation after the Resurrection of Christ, we may have noticed that something new is creating. A bigger and more significant number of people have started to believe in Jesus Christ and his victory, making a community of the First Church. The fruits of the Resurrection have resulted from the flourishing communion of men. 

 

In the Gospel, according to John, the Lord came to the shore of the Galilean Lake after his Passion for seeing his Apostles, who were full of fear and unbelief. In the dialogue between Jesus and Peter, the Lord asked him three times; do you love me, Peter, more than others? The specific talk was the atoning for his sin of betrayal.  

 

Christ wants to build his Church on the foundation of Peter. Therefore, though the man was so weak and, in the beginning, not trustworthy, Jesus has decided to nominate him as the Vicar of Christ. 

 

His is the Rock, and the Lord relies on him as the visible sign of the Lord's presence. 

 

This week Jesus gave advice; we need to be born from above. What does it mean? We became a new creation of the New Covenant; the New Jerusalem is about our Church and the Head, which is God. 

 

What we need to know, Christ wanted to build the Church on Peter, indicating the need for this community of baptised. Our Peter is Pope Francis; the sacraments take place in Church; this is the natural venue of God among the people. 

 

The Church's truth stays on the contrary to those, who say; I believe in God, but I reject the community of believers.

 

God wanted to create a community of men, as we profess on Sundays; I believe in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. 

 

I believe in Church; the number from the Gospel, the 153, means in the Hebrew alphabet, The Church of love.  

 

We celebrate 50 days of Easter, the daybreak of our family, the Church, with joy and pride that we belong to the New People of Christ. Amen.

Jezus ukazał się znowu nad Morzem Tyberiadzkim. A ukazał się w ten sposób: Byli razem Szymon Piotr, Tomasz, zwany Didymos, Natanael z Kany Galilejskiej, synowie Zebedeusza oraz dwaj inni z Jego uczniów. Szymon Piotr powiedział do nich: ”Idę łowić ryby”. Odpowiedzieli mu: ”Idziemy i my z tobą”. Wyszli więc i wsiedli do łodzi, ale tej nocy nic nie złowili. A gdy ranek zaświtał, Jezus stanął na brzegu. Jednakże uczniowie nie wiedzieli, że to był Jezus. A Jezus rzekł do nich: ”Dzieci, czy nie macie nic do jedzenia?”. Odpowiedzieli Mu: ”Nie”. On rzekł do nich: ”Zarzućcie sieć po prawej stronie łodzi, a znajdziecie”. Zarzucili więc i z powodu mnóstwa ryb nie mogli jej wyciągnąć. Powiedział więc do Piotra ów uczeń, którego Jezus miłował: ”To jest Pan!”. Szymon Piotr, usłyszawszy, że to jest Pan, przywdział na siebie wierzchnią szatę, był bowiem prawie nagi, i rzucił się w morze. Reszta uczniów dobiła łodzią, ciągnąc za sobą sieć z rybami. Od brzegu bowiem nie było daleko, tylko około dwustu łokci. A kiedy zeszli na ląd, ujrzeli żarzące się na ziemi węgle, a na nich ułożoną rybę oraz chleb. Rzekł do nich Jezus: ”Przynieście jeszcze ryb, któreście teraz ułowili”. Poszedł Szymon Piotr i wyciągnął na brzeg sieć pełną wielkich ryb w liczbie stu pięćdziesięciu trzech. A pomimo tak wielkiej ilości sieć się nie rozerwała. Rzekł do nich Jezus: ”Chodźcie, posilcie się!”. Żaden z uczniów nie odważył się zadać Mu pytania: ”Kto Ty jesteś?”, bo wiedzieli, że to jest Pan. A Jezus przyszedł, wziął chleb i podał im, podobnie i rybę. To już trzeci raz, jak Jezus ukazał się uczniom od chwili, gdy zmartwychwstał. A gdy spożyli śniadanie, rzekł Jezus do Szymona Piotra: „Szymonie, synu Jana, czy miłujesz Mnie więcej aniżeli ci?” Odpowiedział Mu: „Tak, Panie, Ty wiesz, że Cię kocham”. Rzekł do niego: „Paś baranki moje”. I powtórnie powiedział do niego: „Szymonie, synu Jana, czy miłujesz Mnie?” Odparł Mu: „Tak, Panie, Ty wiesz, że Cię kocham”. Rzekł do niego: „Paś owce moje”. Powiedział mu po raz trzeci: „Szymonie, synu Jana, czy kochasz Mnie?” Zasmucił się Piotr, że mu po raz trzeci powiedział: „Czy kochasz Mnie?” I rzekł do Niego: „Panie, Ty wszystko wiesz, Ty wiesz, że Cię kocham”. Rzekł do niego Jezus: „Paś owce moje. Zaprawdę, zaprawdę powiadam ci: Gdy byłeś młodszy, opasywałeś się sam i chodziłeś, gdzie chciałeś. Ale gdy się zestarzejesz, wyciągniesz ręce swoje, a inny cię opasze i poprowadzi, dokąd nie chcesz”. To powiedział, aby zaznaczyć, jaką śmiercią uwielbi Boga. A wypowiedziawszy to rzekł do niego: „Pójdź za Mną!”

   Cały czas Wielkanocy ukierunkowuje nas na sakrament chrztu i Kościół powszechny. Patrząc na sytuację po Zmartwychwstaniu Chrystusa, może zauważyliśmy, że tworzy się coś nowego. Coraz większa i bardziej znacząca liczba ludzi zaczęła wierzyć w Jezusa Chrystusa i Jego zwycięstwo, tworząc wspólnotę Pierwszego Kościoła. Rezultatem Zmartwychwstania są owocem kwitnącej komunii ludzi.

 

W Ewangelii, według Jana, Pan przyszedł na brzeg Jeziora Galilejskiego po swojej męce, aby zobaczyć swoich Apostołów, pełnych strachu i niewiary. W dialogu Jezusa z Piotrem, Pan pyta go trzykrotnie; kochasz mnie, Piotrze, bardziej niż inni? To zapytanie było przebłaganiem za grzech zdrady.  Te trzy razy, kiedy Piotr powiedział; nie znam tego człowieka, zajęło przejęte przez; tak, kocham bardziej, mój Panie.

 

Chrystus chce zbudować swój Kościół na fundamencie Piotra. Dlatego też, chociaż mężczyzna był tak słaby i na początku niegodny zaufania, Jezus postanowił mianować go Namiestnikiem Chrystusa.

 

On jest Skałą, a Pan polega na nim jako na widzialnym znaku obecności Chrystusa.

 

W tym tygodniu Jezus udzielił nam rady w Ewangelii; musimy narodzić się z góry. Co to znaczy? Staliśmy się nowym stworzeniem Nowego Przymierza; Nowe Jeruzalem dotyczy naszego Kościoła i Głowy, którą jest Bóg.

 

Musimy wiedzieć, że Chrystus chciał zbudować Kościół na Piotrze, wskazując na potrzebę wspólnoty ochrzczonych. Nasz Piotr to papież Franciszek; sakramenty dokonują się w Kościele; to jest naturalne miejsce Boga wśród ludzi.

 

Prawda o potrzebie Kościoła pozostaje w sprzeczności z tezami, które głoszą; Wierzę w Boga, ale odrzucam wspólnotę wierzących.

 

Bóg chciał stworzyć taką wspólnotę ludzi, jak wyznajemy w niedziele; wierzę w Jeden, Święty, Katolicki i Apostolski Kościół.

 

Wierzę w Kościół, który został w Ewangelii określony przez liczbę 153. W transkrypcji hebrajskiej ta liczba wskazuje na słowa; Kościół Miłości.   

 

Obchodzimy 50 dni Wielkanocy, jutrzenkę naszej rodziny, Kościoła. Czynimy to z radością i dumą, że należymy do Nowego Ludu Chrystusa. Amen.
