Matthew 28:16-20

Go and make disciples of all nations

The eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged to meet them. When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated. Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’

   Today we are standing before most import truth of our faith, before the Holy Trinity, which describes the divinity of God. Yes, we exist among this truth, we know, that God is in the Three Persons, but realizing this question, what does it means, that God is the Three Persons, we are confusing and this issue go beyond our understanding .How is possible, One God, being The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit? Logistically, this is incorrect, one never will be tree, and this mathematic rule is in proofed. 

 

Yes, we will never understand the truth of The Holy Trinity on earth, and where human wisdom is ended, there faith starts.

 

The Unity of God between particular Persons is love. God is united in love. The particular Person is unites in love with another Person of the Holy Trinity. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are becoming the one love to people. 

 

Today's Gospel according to Matthew, helps us, to understand love of God to us, Jesus Christ says, Go forth and make people my disciples, baptising in the name of the Father, Son and The Holy Spirit. 

 

Yes, we are baptised in the mane of the Holy Trinity, a priest uses the same rite giving a sacrament of Baptism, and keeping this rite and these Persons is absolutely needed condition. It is not permitted to omit this sentence, I baptise you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...? 

 

Why? Because of the two reasons, the commandment of Christ from today's Gospel, and the meaning of God's work in our life.

 

What does it mean to be baptised in the name of the Holy Spirit? 

 

God the Father is the Creator of man. He calls us, live. He is the Giver of Life, every life; it comes from him, and belongs to him. Many people say, that we created by nature, yes it is true, but not completely, because God the Father uses nature, to give a new life, so He is the beginning and end of human's existence. 

 

God the Son, who is Redeemer, the second Person renewed creature, which was destroyed trough the original sin and disobedience of man. Thanks of him; the dignity of man is restored, having fullness of hope of everlasting life. The bond between God and man is for a new tied up, which was broken in the Paradise. 

 

God the Holy Spirit, who is the Sanctifier, everything what was restored trough Jesus Christ, it needs sanctity and the source of life. We are liable to evil and lack of faithfulness to God, our nature is argue, so a man needs God's support, so The Holy Spirit sanctifies us throughout sacraments, especially in Eucharist and Sacrament of Penance.  He guides us, giving wisdom and abilities for good choice. 

 

 

We would like to know something more about the Holy Trinity, but is it beyond of our mind, so instead to found out more, let us try deepen understand the role of God in our life, who creates, redeems and sanctifies us. 

Glory be to the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit...

Jedenastu uczniów udało się do Galilei, na górę, tam gdzie Jezus im polecił. A gdy Go ujrzeli, oddali Mu pokłon. Niektórzy jednak wątpili. Wtedy Jezus podszedł do nich i przemówił tymi słowami: "Dana Mi jest wszelka władza w niebie i na ziemi. Idźcie więc i nauczajcie wszystkie narody, udzielając im chrztu w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego. Uczcie je zachowywać wszystko, co wam przykazałem. A oto Ja jestem z wami przez wszystkie dni, aż do skończenia świata".

    Stoimy dziś przed jedną z najważniejszą prawd naszej wiary, przed Trójcą Świętą, która opisuje boskość Boga. Wiemy, że Bóg jest w Trzech Osobach, ale co to znaczy, że Bóg jest w Trzech Osobach, gdyż to wykracza poza nasze zrozumienie. Jak to możliwe, jeden Bóg, będąc Ojcem, Synem i Duchem Świętym? Logistycznie, matematyczna reguła przeczy temu.

 

Tak, nigdy nie zrozumiemy prawdy o Trójcy Świętej na ziemi, a tam, gdzie kończy się ludzka mądrość, zaczyna się wiara.

 

Jedność Boga między poszczególnymi Osobami jest miłością. Bóg jest zjednoczony w miłości. Konkretna Osoba jednoczy się w miłości z inną Osobą Trójcy Świętej. Ojciec, Syn i Duch Święty stają się dla ludzi jedyną miłością.

 

Dzisiejsza Ewangelia według Mateusza pomaga nam zrozumieć miłość Boga do nas. Jezus Chrystus mówi: Idźcie i czyńcie ludzi moimi uczniami, chrzcząc w imię Ojca, Syna i Ducha Świętego.

 

Tak, jesteśmy ochrzczeni w imię Trójcy Świętej, kapłan stosuje ten sam obrzęd udzielając sakramentu chrztu, a przestrzeganie tego obrzędu i tych słów jest warunkiem absolutnie koniecznym. Nie wolno pominąć tego zdania, ja chrzczę Cię w imię Ojca i Syna i Ducha Świętego.

 

Dlaczego? Z dwóch powodów: przykazanie Chrystusa z dzisiejszej Ewangelii wskazuje na Boże dzieła w naszym życiu.

 

Co to znaczy przyjąć chrzest w imię Trójcy Świętej?

 

Bóg Ojciec jest Stwórcą człowieka.  On jest Dawcą życia, każde życie pochodzi od niego i należy do niego. Wiele osób mówi, że stworzyła nas natura, tak to prawda, ale nie do końca, ponieważ Bóg Ojciec używa natury, aby dać nowe życie, a więc jest początkiem i końcem ludzkiego istnienia.

 

Bóg Syn, który jest Odkupicielem, druga Osoba, odnowione stworzenie, które zostało zniszczone przez grzech pierworodny i nieposłuszeństwo człowieka. Dzięki Niemu godność człowieka zostaje przywrócona, mając pełnię nadziei na życie wieczne. Więź między Bogiem a człowiekiem jest związana z nowym przemierzem, który został zerwany w raju.

 

Boży Duch Święty jest Uświęcicielem; wszystko, co zostało przywrócone przez Jezusa Chrystusa, potrzebuje świętości i źródła życia. Jesteśmy podatni na zło i brak wierności, więc człowiek potrzebuje wsparcia Bożego, dlatego Duch Święty uświęca nas przez sakramenty, zwłaszcza w Eucharystii i Sakramencie Pokuty. Prowadzi nas, dając mądrość i umiejętności dobrego wyboru.

 

 

Chcielibyśmy dowiedzieć się czegoś więcej o Trójcy Świętej, ale to jest poza naszym umysłem, więc zamiast dowiedzieć się więcej, spróbujmy głębiej zrozumieć rolę Boga w naszym życiu, który nas stwarza, odkupuje i uświęca.

Chwała Ojcu, Synowi i Duchowi Świętemu ...

John 15:26-27,16:12-15

The Spirit of truth will lead you to the complete truth

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘When the Advocate comes,

whom I shall send to you from the Father,

the Spirit of truth who issues from the Father,

he will be my witness.

And you too will be witnesses,

because you have been with me from the outset.

‘I still have many things to say to you

but they would be too much for you now.

But when the Spirit of truth comes

he will lead you to the complete truth,

since he will not be speaking as from himself

but will say only what he has learnt;

and he will tell you of the things to come.

He will glorify me,

since all he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.

Everything the Father has is mine;

that is why I said:

All he tells you

will be taken from what is mine.’

Today we are 50 days after the Easter Sunday and the celebrations of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. TheVIII Sunday of Eastertide closes the whole time of the Paschal Mysteries. This day is celebrated by the whole Church as the Pentecost of the Descent of the Holy Spirit.

 

The whole work of the Death and the Resurrection is accomplished when Christ sends His promised gift from above. The Third Person of the Holy Trinity has become the power of believers. The proof of it is the Cenacle, where the Apostles prayed and waited for the Spirit that would help them preach the Gospel for all the nations which were gathered in Jerusalem at that day. 

 

That event has become the ground-breaking time for the whole Church – the promise of Jesus has come true. The Advocate and Consoler was given for all the nations and all the people. 

 

The Holy Spirit sanctifies us, strengthens us, brings us the power of Heaven. But what is very relevant, He is the Wisdom of God. He wants to advise us. The role of the Holy Spirit as Adviser. 

 

We are invited to listen to His voice. Why? Because He is doing, what God wants to be done, and God knows best what we need. 

 

Probably you have thought about it many times. Why this world is so far from peace and joy, why there are wars? Our expectations are so different from the reality in which we live. 

 

Maybe, this is a good time to raise a question: do we listen to God and hear His voice? The whole Holy Trinity gives us peace, not war and hatred. And whatabout us? Can we build a new world on our own foundation, without God? 

 

We are so disappointed, that this world is not perfect and different from our expectations. But do we listen to God? 

 

The Sunday of Pentecost encourages us to follow Jesus Christ and His Spirit. Of course, we cannot completely change the reality, only God can do it.But with the advises of the Holy Spirit, we can make this world a bit better. Amen.

(J 15, 26-27; 16, 12-15) 
Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: "Gdy przyjdzie Paraklet, którego Ja wam poślę od Ojca, Duch Prawdy, który od Ojca pochodzi, On zaświadczy o Mnie. Ale wy też świadczycie, bo jesteście ze Mną od początku. Jeszcze wiele mam wam do powiedzenia, ale teraz znieść nie możecie. Gdy zaś przyjdzie On, Duch Prawdy, doprowadzi was do całej prawdy. Bo nie będzie mówił od siebie, ale powie wszystko, cokolwiek usłyszy, i oznajmi wam rzeczy przyszłe. On Mnie otoczy chwałą, ponieważ z mojego weźmie i wam objawi. Wszystko, co ma Ojciec, jest moje. Dlatego powiedziałem, że z mojego weźmie i wam objawi".

   Dzisiaj mamy 50 dni od Niedzieli Wielkanocnej i obchodów Zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa. Ta VIII Niedziela Wielkanocna zamyka cały czas liturgii Tajemnic Paschalnych. Cały ten dzień obchodzony jest jako Pięćdziesiątnica Zesłania Ducha Świętego.

 

Całe dzieło śmierci i zmartwychwstania dokonuje się, gdy Chrystus zsyła z góry obiecany Dar. Trzecia Osoba Trójcy Świętej stała się mocą wierzących. Dowodem na to jest Wieczernik, w którym Apostołowie czekali na Bożego Ducha, by głosić Ewangelię wszystkim narodom, zgromadzonym w tym dniu w Jerozolimie.

 

 

To wydarzenie stało się przełomem dla całego Kościoła, spełniła się obietnica Jezusa. Orędownik i Pocieszyciel jest dany wszystkim narodom, wszystkich czasów.

 

Duch Święty uświęca nas, wzmacnia, niosąc moc Nieba. Ale co jest bardzo istotne, jest on Mądrością Bożą. Chce nam doradzić.

 

Jesteśmy zaproszeni, aby usłyszeć jego głos i słuchać go. Dlaczego? Ponieważ On podpowiada, czego Bóg od nas oczekuje. 

 

Zapewne wielokrotnie o tym myślimy. Dlaczego ten świat jest tak daleki od sytuacji pokoju i radości, dlaczego ludzie wciąż ze sobą walczą? Oczekiwania są tak różne od rzeczywistości, w której żyjemy.

 

Może to dobry moment, aby zadać pytanie, na ile słuchamy Boga i Jego głosu? Cała Trójca Święta buduje nie rujnuje, daje pokój, a nie wojnę i nienawiść. A my, którzy zbudujemy nowy świat na własnym fundamencie bez Boga?

 

Jesteśmy tak rozczarowani, że ten świat nie jest doskonały i różni się od naszych oczekiwań. Ale kiedy ostatnio słuchałem Boga?

 

 

Ta niedziela Zielonych Świątków zachęca nas do naśladowania Jezusa Chrystusa i Jego Ducha. Oczywiście nie możemy całkowicie zmienić rzeczywistości, Bóg może to zrobić, ale za radą Ducha Świętego możemy stworzyć ten świat trochę lepszy. Amen.

Father, keep those you have given me true to your name

Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said:

‘Holy Father,

keep those you have given me true to your name,

so that they may be one like us.

While I was with them,

I kept those you had given me true to your name.

I have watched over them

and not one is lost

except the one who chose to be lost,

and this was to fulfil the scriptures.

But now I am coming to you

and while still in the world I say these things

to share my joy with them to the full.

I passed your word on to them,

and the world hated them,

because they belong to the world

no more than I belong to the world.

I am not asking you to remove them from the world,

but to protect them from the evil one.

They do not belong to the world

any more than I belong to the world.

Consecrate them in the truth;

your word is truth.

As you sent me into the world,

I have sent them into the world,

and for their sake I consecrate myself

so that they too may be consecrated in truth.’

Today in the Gospel according to John, we can hear the Lord's Prayer, which is called as the Prayer for Unity of the Church. Jesus Christ was conscience, that his departure is close to, and the time to be united with the Father in heaven is coming, so He asked for power and unity of believers. 

 

The fist reading showed us, such important is continuity, because after the death of Judas, the Apostles chose on his place a new one Apostle, Matthias. We say, that we believe in the one, apostolic, catholic and holy. The church is a continuation of God's work and proclamation of the Gospel.

 

The prayer of Christ has many aspects, one of them is a request for unity, as I have mentioned before. Why did Jesus court of that? 

 

He knew, that the power of the Church and his vitality is founded in unity, he asked the Father, to the people of the whole centuries might be one. From God comes unity, and continuing of the Mother of the Church. He said, " the Father, and I we are one". This appeal is obligatory for all. 

 

Thinking about unity, we should care of widely agreement, as a Church, community, family and society. We are strong as one. Only division it comes from evil, which are anger and selfishness, which serve to nothing, apart of private business. I know, that it is not easy, because we experience many problems, nowadays. 

 

But any community is not able to survive without unity, so as member of the Catholic Church we pray at Mass for a pope, bishop and the whole congregation. 

 

A continuation of Jesus' words, it is the III Eucharistic Prayer: 

 

"Listen graciously to the prayers of this family,

whom you have summoned before you:

in your compassion, O merciful Father,

gather to yourself all your children

scattered throughout the world".

 

Apart of that, let us pray for the unity of Christianity. Many years ago, I heard a sentence, that division of Christianity is the biggest umbrage for non-Christian world. We are baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity, and divided. Of course, many differences are among us, the understanding of Eucharist, the primate of pope, deviations of saint. These things divide us, but we cannot forget about today's words of Christ, to pray for unity of us, Christians:

 

"‘Holy Father,

keep those you have given me true to your name,

so that they may be one like us".

 Słowa Ewangelii według Świętego Jana

W czasie Ostatniej Wieczerzy Jezus, podniósłszy oczy ku niebu, modlił się tymi słowami:

«Ojcze Święty, zachowaj ich w Twoim imieniu, które Mi dałeś, aby tak jak My stanowili jedno. Dopóki z nimi byłem, zachowywałem ich w Twoim imieniu, które Mi dałeś, i ustrzegłem ich, a nikt z nich nie zginął z wyjątkiem syna zatracenia, aby się wypełniło Pismo.

Ale teraz idę do Ciebie i tak mówię, będąc jeszcze na świecie, aby moją radość mieli w sobie w całej pełni. Ja im przekazałem Twoje słowo, a świat ich znienawidził za to, że nie są ze świata, jak i Ja nie jestem ze świata. Nie proszę, abyś ich zabrał ze świata, ale byś ich ustrzegł od złego. Oni nie są ze świata, jak i Ja nie jestem ze świata.

Uświęć ich w prawdzie. Słowo Twoje jest prawdą. Jak Ty Mnie posłałeś na świat, tak i Ja ich na świat posłałem. A za nich Ja poświęcam w ofierze samego siebie, aby i oni byli uświęceni w prawdzie».

   Dziś w Ewangelii według św. Jana możemy usłyszeć Modlitwę Pańską, zwaną Modlitwą o jedność Kościoła. Jezus Chrystus był świadomy, że Jego odejście jest bliskie i nadchodzi czas zjednoczenia z Ojcem w niebie, dlatego prosił o moc i jedność wierzących.

 

Pierwsze czytanie ukazuje nam, że tak ważna jest ciągłość, ponieważ po śmierci Judasza Apostołowie wybrali na jego miejsce nowego Apostoła, Macieja. Mówimy, że wierzymy w jednego, apostolskiego, powszechnego i świętego. Kościół jest kontynuacją Bożego dzieła i głoszenia Ewangelii.

 

Modlitwa Chrystusa ma wiele aspektów, jednym z nich jest prośba o jedność, o czym wspomniałem wcześniej. Dlaczego Jezus zabiegał o to?

 

Wiedział, że moc Kościoła i jego żywotność opiera się na jedności - prosił Ojca, aby ludzie wszystkich wieków mogli być jednym. Od Boga pochodzi jedność i trwanie Matki Kościoła. „Ja i Ojciec jedno Jesteśmy”. Ten apel jest skierowany do wszystkich.

 

Myśląc o jedności, powinniśmy dbać o szerokie rozumienie Kościoła jako wspólnoty rodziny i społeczeństwa. Jesteśmy silni jak jedno. Każdy podział pochodzi od zła, którym jest złość i egoizm, niosąc tylko prywatne interesy. Wiem, że nie jest to łatwe, bo w dzisiejszych czasach borykamy się z wieloma problemami.

 

Żadna wspólnota nie jest w stanie przetrwać bez jedności, dlatego jako członkowie Kościoła katolickiego modlimy się na Mszy św. za papieża, biskupa i za całe zgromadzenie.

 

Kontynuacją słów Jezusa jest III Modlitwa eucharystyczna:

 

„Wysłuchaj łaskawie modlitwy zgromadzonych tutaj wiernych, * którzy z Twojej łaski stoją przed Tobą. * W miłosierdziu swoim, o dobry Ojcze, * zjednocz ze sobą wszystkie swoje dzieci * rozproszone po całym świecie”.

 

Poza tym módlmy się o jedność chrześcijaństwa. Wiele lat temu usłyszałem zdanie, że podział chrześcijaństwa jest największym hańbą i zgorszeniem dla niechrześcijańskiego świata. Jesteśmy ochrzczeni w imię Trójcy Świętej i podzieleni. Oczywiście jest między nami wiele różnic, różne rozumienie Eucharystii, prymat Papieża, kult świętych. To nas dzieli, ale nie możemy zapomnieć o dzisiejszych słowach Chrystusa, aby modlić się o jedność nas wszystkich, chrześcijan:

 

"Ojcze Święty, zachowaj ich w Twoim imieniu, które Mi dałeś, aby tak jak My stanowili jedno”. Amen.
