Mark 7:1-8,​14-15,​21-23

You put aside the commandment of God, to cling to human traditions

The Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered round Jesus, and they noticed that some of his disciples were eating with unclean hands, that is, without washing them. For the Pharisees, and the Jews in general, follow the tradition of the elders and never eat without washing their arms as far as the elbow; and on returning from the market place they never eat without first sprinkling themselves. There are also many other observances which have been handed down to them concerning the washing of cups and pots and bronze dishes. So these Pharisees and scribes asked him, ‘Why do your disciples not respect the tradition of the elders but eat their food with unclean hands?’ He answered, ‘It was of you hypocrites that Isaiah so rightly prophesied in this passage of scripture:

This people honours me only with lip-service,

while their hearts are far from me.

The worship they offer me is worthless,

the doctrines they teach are only human regulations.

You put aside the commandment of God to cling to human traditions.’ He called the people to him again and said, ‘Listen to me, all of you, and understand. Nothing that goes into a man from outside can make him unclean; it is the things that come out of a man that make him unclean. For it is from within, from men’s hearts, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within and make a man unclean.’

    The Gospel according to Mark reports on the confrontation between Jesus and the Pharisees, those who charged Christ for losing tradition of the Elderly of Israel. During the conversation appears quite interesting conclusion of Jesus, you the chieves of Jews, you cling a lot of human regulation and reject the God’s commencements.   The purity of body, it is more reverent for you then the purity of heart. 

 

Jesus says, from the bottom of heart are taking all bad thought and deed of man.  

 

The teaching of Christ makes us aware, the central place of my decision and doing so, it is my spirit and mind, as the centre of freedom and human will. 

 

Last Sunday I pointed out the desire of God in us. Every human existence needs God, because we have been created to the image and likeness of him. Even more, trough the sacrament of baptism, you are the Temple of the Holy Trinity, and using the IT language, our soul and mind is programmed by God. We have the seal of God. 

 

Nature never likes emptiness, if God is there, all things are made in him. If there is not God, there is the ruling of instinct and non-limited desires. 

 

We are not supine men, controlling by God, but free people, who have free will and the recognition of mind. Our thoughts or deeds are the final fruits of my will. Where is not the healthy and living faith and the relationship to God, there is a place of some superstition, and the irrelevant practises, which takes place of Christian morality and commandments. This attitude has become idles, like the law of clean cup and dishes of the Pharisees.  Those people believe more in illusion of faith (to be superstition), that in the living God and his teaching. 

 

The catechize of Jesus teaches us about the responsibility about our decision. You are not determinate people, pushing to something, and out of my will. 

 

Today in this Gospel, we are invited to care of our sight, thoughts, and decision, because all these things, as I said, does have influences on my reactions and acts, in daily life. Today, it is very difficult, being bombarded by many adverts, unappropriated stuff, which is working in us. We are the unity of Body, soul, and psychology. Mind is like a sponge absorbing all instincts of sight, words, and imagination, which are pushing us to work. 

 

 Let us pray today for the purity of thoughts, sights, and desire, to be able to be resistant to everything, what makes me impure, and let follow God’s way. Amen.

Mk 7, 1-8a. 14-15. 21-23 
U Jezusa zebrali się faryzeusze i kilku uczonych w Piśmie, którzy przybyli z Jerozolimy. I zauważyli, że niektórzy z Jego uczniów brali posiłek nieczystymi, to znaczy nieobmytymi rękami. Faryzeusze bowiem, i w ogóle Żydzi, trzymając się tradycji starszych, nie jedzą, jeśli sobie rąk nie obmyją, rozluźniając pięść. I gdy wrócą z rynku, nie jedzą, dopóki się nie obmyją. Jest jeszcze wiele innych zwyczajów, które przejęli i których przestrzegają, jak obmywanie kubków, dzbanków, naczyń miedzianych. Zapytali Go więc faryzeusze i uczeni w Piśmie: "Dlaczego Twoi uczniowie nie postępują według tradycji starszych, lecz jedzą nieczystymi rękami?" Odpowiedział im: "Słusznie prorok Izajasz powiedział o was, obłudnikach, jak jest napisane: „Ten lud czci Mnie wargami, lecz sercem swym daleko jest ode Mnie. Ale czci Mnie na próżno, ucząc zasad podanych przez ludzi”. Uchyliliście przykazanie Boże, a trzymacie się ludzkiej tradycji". Potem przywołał znowu tłum do siebie i rzekł do niego: "Słuchajcie Mnie, wszyscy, i zrozumcie! Nic nie wchodzi z zewnątrz w człowieka, co mogłoby uczynić go nieczystym; lecz to, co wychodzi z człowieka, to czyni człowieka nieczystym. Z wnętrza bowiem, z serca ludzkiego pochodzą złe myśli, nierząd, kradzieże, zabójstwa, cudzołóstwa, chciwość, przewrotność, podstęp, wyuzdanie, zazdrość, obelgi, pycha, głupota. Całe to zło z wnętrza pochodzi i czyni człowieka nieczystym".

    Ewangelia według Marka opisuje konfrontację Jezusa z faryzeuszami, którzy oskarżali Chrystusa o zatracenie tradycji Starszych Izraela. W trakcie rozmowy pojawia się dość ciekawa konkluzja Jezusa, wy, wodzowie Żydów, trzymacie się wielu ludzkich przepisów i odrzucacie zamysły Boże. Czystość ciała jest dla ciebie większą czcią niż czystość serca.

 

Jezus mówi, że z głębi serca należy usuwać wszelkie złe myśli i uczynki człowieka.

 

Nauczanie Chrystusa uświadamia nam, że centralnym miejscem mojej decyzji jest mój duch i umysł, jako ośrodek wolności i ludzkiej woli.

 

W ostatnią niedzielę ukazałem pragnienie Boga w nas. Każde istnienie ludzkie potrzebuje Boga, ponieważ zostaliśmy stworzeni na Jego obraz i podobieństwo. Co więcej, poprzez sakrament chrztu jesteście Świątynią Trójcy Świętej, a posługując się językiem IT, nasza dusza i umysł są programowane przez Boga. Mamy niezatary znak Boga w nas.

 

Natura nigdy nie lubi pustki, jeśli jest Bóg, wszystko w Nim się dzieje. Jeśli nie ma Boga, panuje instynkt i nieograniczone pragnienia.

 

Nie jesteśmy bezwolnymi ludźmi, kontrolowanymi przez Boga, ale istotami wolnymi, którzy mają wolną wolę i władzę umysłu. Nasze myśli i czyny są ostatecznymi owocami mojej woli. Tam, gdzie nie ma zdrowej i żywej wiary oraz relacji z Bogiem, jest miejsce na pewne przesądy i nieistotne praktyki, które zastępują chrześcijańską moralność i przykazania. Taka postawa staje się bezczynna, podobnie jak prawo faryzeuszy dotyczące czystych naczyń. Ci ludzie bardziej wierzą w iluzję wiary (będącą przesądem), niż w żywego Boga i Jego naukę.

 

Katechizacja Jezusa uczy nas odpowiedzialności za nasze decyzje. Nie jesteście zniewolonymi ludźmi, dążącymi do czegoś, wbrew mojej woli.

 

Dziś poprzez dzisiejszą Ewangelię jesteśmy zaproszeni, abyśmy dbali o nasz wzrok, myśli i decyzje, ponieważ to wszystko, jak powiedziałem, ma wpływ na moje reakcje i działania w codziennym życiu. Jest to bardzo trudne, bombardowani wieloma reklamami, nieprzyzwoitymi rzeczami, wpływają na nas. Jesteśmy jednością ciała, duszy i psychiki. Umysł jest jak gąbka wchłaniająca wszelkie oddziaływania wzroku, słów i wyobraźni, które popychają nas do podejmowania róznych decyzji.

 Módlmy się dzisiaj o czystość myśli, wzroku i pragnień, abyśmy mogli przeciwstawić się wszystkiemu, co  możec czynić nas nieczystym, i podążajmy drogą Bożą. Amen.

John 6:60-69

Who shall we go to? You are the Holy One of God

After hearing his doctrine many of the followers of Jesus said, ‘This is intolerable language. How could anyone accept it?’ Jesus was aware that his followers were complaining about it and said, ‘Does this upset you? What if you should see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before?

‘It is the spirit that gives life,

the flesh has nothing to offer.

The words I have spoken to you are spirit

and they are life.

‘But there are some of you who do not believe.’ For Jesus knew from the outset those who did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. He went on, ‘This is why I told you that no one could come to me unless the Father allows him.’ After this, many of his disciples left him and stopped going with him.

  Then Jesus said to the Twelve, ‘What about you, do you want to go away too?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘Lord, who shall we go to? You have the message of eternal life, and we believe; we know that you are the Holy One of God.’

    Every day, waking up, we face with some challenges, decision, which should be made.  My life is like a sequence of choice. 

 

One of the most dilemmas is about, how can I make it my life. Which direction should I choose, on what foundation shall build my existence? 

 

Before that question stood the people listening Jesus and his Eucharistic speech. The words of the Lord were the indication and answer for them, where they may find a joy and satisfaction for own life. 

 

Unfortunately, the proposal of Christ was above of their understanding, and the talk occurred intolerable for them. They left Christ, remaining without peace and the fulfilment of life. 

 

Today we try to create our life in many ways, because we stand before the same question, how can make my life happy and fulfilled?

 

 

The answer we can find in the Gospel, Jesus says, the spirit gives life, the body can offer nothing. 

 

The spirit may be satisfied by God only, every deep desire comes from him, and he can give the real sense of my life. 

 

Jesus Christ warns us, the way of building on flesh, it leads to nowhere, so often to the interim joy and satisfaction, leaving the sadness and disappointment afterwards. 

 

The only God can make us the valuable person, through his presence in me, if I allow him to work in my heart. 

 

There are not shortcuts in human life, to be able to feel, that my life is beautiful and full of God. 

 

St. Ignatius Loyola, a Spanish saint and the founder of the Jesuits Convent, he expressed own experience. After he was injured during a battle, he had a lot of time to read. His desire was to read the book on knights and wars. But at the meantime, he reached the books about the saints and Christ. The difference was, the book of wars gave him a short pleasure, and the books of the Christianity made his heart joyful and looking for Christ. 

 

These other books led him to be converted to the Lord, becoming a giant of faith. 

 

The words of Christ, the Holy Eucharist can fulfill our heart with joy, and give the “name” to us, as the children of God, and rid the human emptiness. Amen.

(J 6, 55. 60-69) 
W synagodze w Kafarnaum Jezus powiedział: "Ciało moje jest prawdziwym pokarmem, a Krew moja jest prawdziwym napojem". A wielu spośród Jego uczniów, którzy to usłyszeli, mówiło: "Trudna jest ta mowa. Któż jej może słuchać?" Jezus jednak, świadom tego, że uczniowie Jego na to szemrali, rzekł do nich: "To was gorszy? A gdy ujrzycie Syna Człowieczego wstępującego tam, gdzie był przedtem? To Duch daje życie; ciało na nic się nie zda. Słowa, które Ja wam powiedziałem, są duchem i są życiem. Lecz pośród was są tacy, którzy nie wierzą". Jezus bowiem od początku wiedział, którzy nie wierzą, i kto ma Go wydać. Rzekł więc: "Oto dlaczego wam powiedziałem: Nikt nie może przyjść do Mnie, jeżeli nie zostało mu to dane przez Ojca". Od tego czasu wielu uczniów Jego odeszło i już z Nim nie chodziło. Rzekł więc Jezus do Dwunastu: "Czyż i wy chcecie odejść?" Odpowiedział Mu Szymon Piotr: "Panie, do kogo pójdziemy? Ty masz słowa życia wiecznego. A my uwierzyliśmy i poznaliśmy, że Ty jesteś Świętym Bożym".

    Codziennie, budząc się, stajemy przed pewnymi wyzwaniami, decyzjami, które należy podjąć. Moje życie jest jak ciąg wyborów.

 

Jednym z największych dylematów jest to, jak mogę przeżyć swoje życie. W jakim kierunku mam podążać, na jakim fundamencie zbudować moje istnienie?

 

Przed tym pytaniem stali ludzie słuchający Jezusa. Słowa Pana były dla nich wskazówką i odpowiedzią, gdzie mogą znaleźć radość i zadowolenie z własnego życia.

 

Niestety, propozycja Chrystusa była ponad ich zrozumieniem, a rozmowa okazała się dla nich nie do zniesienia. Opuścili Chrystusa, pozostając bez pokoju i spełnienia życia.

 

Dzisiaj próbujemy tworzyć nasze życie na wiele sposobów, ponieważ stajemy przed tym samym pytaniem, jak uczynić moje życie szczęśliwym i spełnionym?

 

Odpowiedź możemy znaleźć w Ewangelii, mówi Jezus, duch daje życie, ciało nie może niczego dać.

 

Duch może być zaspokojony tylko przez Boga, każdego najgłębokie pragnienia pochodzą od Niego i On może nadać prawdziwy sens mojemu życiu.

 

Jezus Chrystus ostrzega nas, droga budowania na ciele, prowadzi donikąd, tak często do chwilowej radości i satysfakcji, pozostawiając smutek i rozczarowanie.

 

Jedyie Bóg może uczynić  nas wartościową osobę, poprzez swoją obecność we mnie, jeśli pozwolę Mu działać w moim sercu.

 

Nie ma skrótów w życiu ludzkim, by móc poczuć, że moje życie jest piękne i pełne Boga.

 

Św. Ignacy Loyola, hiszpański święty i założyciel klasztoru jezuitów, podzielił się własnym doświadczenie. Kiedy został ranny w bitwie, miał dużo czasu na czytanie. Jego pragnieniem było przeczytanie książki o rycerzach i wojnach. Ale w międzyczasie dotarł do książek o świętych i Chrystusie. Różnica była taka, że ​​księga wojen dała mu krótką przyjemność, a księgi chrześcijaństwa sprawiły, że jego serce było radosne i szukające Chrystusa.

 

Te inne książki doprowadziły go do nawrócenia do Pana, stając się gigantem wiary.

 

Słowa Chrystusa, Najświętsza Eucharystia mogą wypełnić nasze serca radością i nadać nam „imię”, jako dzieciom Boga i uwolnić nas od ludzkiej pustki. Amen.

I am the Bread of live... Ja jestem Chlebem żywym...

 

John 6:51-58

My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink

Jesus said to the crowd:

‘I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.

Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;

and the bread that I shall give is my flesh,

for the life of the world.’

Then the Jews started arguing with one another: ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ they said. Jesus replied:

‘I tell you most solemnly,

if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,

you will not have life in you.

Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood

has eternal life,

and I shall raise him up on the last day.

For my flesh is real food

and my blood is real drink.

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood

lives in me

and I live in him.

As I, who am sent by the living Father,

myself draw life from the Father,

so whoever eats me will draw life from me.

This is the bread come down from heaven;

not like the bread our ancestors ate:

they are dead,

but anyone who eats this bread will live for ever.’

    In this summertime, we continue to read the Eucharistic Talk of Jesus, which come from chapter 6 of John’s Gospel. 

 

The Lord says, whoever eats my Body and drinks my Blood, that person will live forever. The sentence of Jesus contains the endless wisdom and the accuracy, if I want to follow Jesus Christ, and achieve the eternal life, I need to receive his Body. Pondering these words of the Lord in my mind, we can understand the necessity comes from the Gospel, referring to the Holy Eucharist. 

 

Christ is very clear, you can do nothing without me, refusing my grace and the heavenly food, this is the way to nowhere. If someone permanently ignore the Mass, that person cheats itself, rejecting the fundamental need, to be united with God. The Christianity without the Holy Eucharist is becoming a mask of faith. This is the classic depiction, those people are like birds, which cannot fly, and the soul is dying and withering like a fruitless tree. 

 

Without the living stream of the Holy Eucharist, this is an illusion, that I am a real believer. 

 

I remember a story about the Cardinal from Lithuania in the 80^th of the XX century. At that time the country was a part of the Soviet Union, the republic, a satellite state of the Communist Russia. The Lithuanian Church was oppressing by the communist, and great number of the clergy was imprisoned, devoid of the ministry and the Holy Masses. 

 

The cardinal had found the way, how to celebrate a Mass, he had some bread and wine, made of raisins. The case of the glasses was used as the altar. He did Masses in a conspiracy, because the guard was observing him. While the glimpse of the soldier was on the cardinal, he automatically closed the case, to avoid any suspicion on the celebrating Mass, otherwise, he might have faced with the serious consequences, even death, because of the breaking rules of the camp, where he was. 

 

It was a heroism of the cardinal, who put out his life in a risk for the Eucharistic Jesus. So many people suffer celebrating or attending at the Holy Eucharist, because of persecution of faith.

Jesus says, I am the Bread of life, whoever eats it, will live forever. May we observe the words of the Savior and receive him with piety and gratitude in our hearts. Amen. 

(J 6, 51-58) 
Jezus powiedział do Żydów: "Ja jestem chlebem żywym, który zstąpił z nieba. Jeśli ktoś spożywa ten chleb, będzie żył na wieki. Chlebem, który Ja dam, jest moje Ciało, wydane za życie świata". Sprzeczali się więc między sobą Żydzi, mówiąc: "Jak On może nam dać swoje ciało do jedzenia?" Rzekł do nich Jezus: "Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Jeżeli nie będziecie jedli Ciała Syna Człowieczego ani pili Krwi Jego, nie będziecie mieli życia w sobie. Kto spożywa moje Ciało i pije moją Krew, ma życie wieczne, a Ja go wskrzeszę w dniu ostatecznym. Ciało moje jest prawdziwym pokarmem, a Krew moja jest prawdziwym napojem. Kto spożywa moje Ciało i Krew moją pije, trwa we Mnie, a Ja w nim. Jak Mnie posłał żyjący Ojciec, a Ja żyję przez Ojca, tak i ten, kto Mnie spożywa, będzie żył przeze Mnie. To jest chleb, który z nieba zstąpił – nie jest on taki jak ten, który jedli wasi przodkowie, a poumierali. Kto spożywa ten chleb, będzie żył na wieki".

    W tym letnim czasie kontynuujemy czytanie Eucharystycznej Mowy Jezusa, która jest zamieszczona w rozdziale 6 Ewangelii Jana.

 

Pan mówi, kto spożywa Moje Ciało i pije Moją Krew, ten będzie żył na wieki. Słowa Jezusa zawierają nieskończoną mądrość, jeśli chcę naśladować Jezusa Chrystusa i osiągnąć życie wieczne, muszę przyjmować Jego Ciało. Rozważając słowa Pana, możemy zauważyć, że ta konieczność pochodząca z Ewangelii, odnosi się do Świętej Eucharystii.

 

Chrystus jest bardzo czytelny; nie możesz nic zrobić beze mnie, odrzucając moją łaskę i niebiański pokarm, to jest droga donikąd. Jeśli ktoś stale ignoruje Mszę, to ta osoba oszukuje samą siebie, odrzucając podstawową potrzebę zjednoczenia się z Bogiem. Chrześcijaństwo bez Świętej Eucharystii staje się pozorem wiary. Obrazując tą sytuacje, ci ludzie są jak ptaki, które nie mogą latać, a dusza umiera i więdnie jak drzewo bezowocne.

 

Bez żywego źródła Najświętszej Eucharystii, to tylko udawanie, że jestem prawdziwie wierzący.

 

Pamiętam historię o kardynale z Litwy w latach 80. XX wieku. W tamtym czasie kraj był częścią Związku Radzieckiego, republiką, państwem satelickim komunistycznej Rosji. Kościół litewski był uciskany przez komunistów, a duża liczba duchownych była uwięziona, pozbawiona posługi i Mszy świętych.

 

Kardynał znalazł sposób, jak odprawiać Mszę, miał trochę chleba i wina, zrobionego z rodzynek. Etui od okularów było używane jako ołtarz. Odprawiał Msze w głębokiej konspiracji, ponieważ strażnik go obserwował. Gdy żołnierz rzucił okiem na kardynała, automatycznie on zamknął etui, aby uniknąć jakichkolwiek podejrzeń co do odprawianej Mszy, w przeciwnym razie mógłby stanąć w obliczu poważnych konsekwencji, nawet śmierci, z powodu złamania zasad obozu, w którym przebywał.

 

To był heroizm kardynała, który kład na szali swoje życie dla Eucharystycznego Jezusa. Ten litewski ksiądz i wielu jemu podobnych, ryzykowali, lub wciąż ryzykują życiem odprawiając lub uczestnicząc w Najświętszej Eucharystii.

Jezus mówi: Ja jestem Chlebem życia, ktokolwiek Mnie spożywa, będzie żył na wieki. Obyśmy przestrzegali słów Zbawiciela i przyjęli Go z pobożnością i wdzięcznością w naszych sercach. Amen.

John 6:41-51

Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever

The Jews were complaining to each other about Jesus, because he had said, ‘I am the bread that came down from heaven.’ ‘Surely this is Jesus son of Joseph’ they said. ‘We know his father and mother. How can he now say, “I have come down from heaven”?’ Jesus said in reply, ‘Stop complaining to each other.

‘No one can come to me

unless he is drawn by the Father who sent me,

and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is written in the prophets:

They will all be taught by God,

and to hear the teaching of the Father,

and learn from it,

is to come to me.

Not that anybody has seen the Father,

except the one who comes from God:

he has seen the Father.

I tell you most solemnly,

everybody who believes has eternal life.

‘I am the bread of life.

Your fathers ate the manna in the desert

and they are dead;

but this is the bread that comes down from heaven,

so that a man may eat it and not die.

I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.

Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;

and the bread that I shall give is my flesh,

for the life of the world.’

    Today's readings confirm the truth that everything what we have, is it thanks to God. Our life, existence, even property, which we gain through our human work, are the gift from God, because God supports human being. 

 

In the first reading from the Book of Kings the author presents us the Prophet Elijah. He was very distressed, because of the King Ahab. He said, it would be better to die, and have no power to work for the heritage of God.  But God sent an angel and told him: get up, eat something and continue your mission among my nation.

 

In today's Gospel according to Mark, Jesus says, I am the real bread of life, not the one that was eaten in the desert by your ancestors, but I am the real, heavenly food. This is the next example that our human being is the grace from God. We are fed by Jesus, who gives us His Body and Blood for the eternal life. Three last Sundays told us about it, we need to receive sacraments with pure heart, to achieve eternal salvation. 

 

Jesus Christ concludes his talk: "No one can come to me

unless he is drawn by the Father who sent me,

and I will raise him up at the last day".

 

Yes, we are called to be with him, and the Father calls us trough the baptism to become the children of God. But this invitation is both, as a gift and a task. Our commitment to the Lord and the sacramental involvement depends on us. Jesus Christ is calling us, we need to care for our faith and commitment which are put into our hands, and these gifts are not given forever. It's very easy to lose them.

 

Today we have Sunday, how many people neglect the Sunday's Mass, and put their rest in the first place? They are baptized; God calls them. But they have no time for the Lord. 

 

Jesus Christ teaches us that human being and faith is the grace from God, The Son of God is calling us, so we should take care of our faith and let it flourish trough sacraments. 

 

Apart from that, we should be thankful to the Lord for our life and Christianity. Amen.

Żydzi szemrali przeciwko Jezusowi, dlatego że powiedział: "Ja jestem chlebem, który z nieba zstąpił". I mówili: "Czyż to nie jest Jezus, syn Józefa, którego ojca i matkę my znamy? Jakżeż może On teraz mówić: Z nieba zstąpiłem". Jezus rzekł im w odpowiedzi: "Nie szemrajcie między sobą! Nikt nie może przyjść do Mnie, jeżeli go nie pociągnie Ojciec, który Mnie posłał; Ja zaś wskrzeszę go w dniu ostatecznym. Napisane jest u Proroków: „Oni wszyscy będą uczniami Boga”. Każdy, kto od Ojca usłyszał i przyjął naukę, przyjdzie do Mnie. Nie znaczy to, aby ktokolwiek widział Ojca; jedynie Ten, który jest od Boga, widział Ojca. Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Kto we Mnie wierzy, ma życie wieczne. Ja jestem chlebem życia. Ojcowie wasi jedli mannę na pustyni i pomarli. To jest chleb, który z nieba zstępuje: Kto go je, nie umrze. Ja jestem chlebem żywym, który zstąpił z nieba. Jeśli ktoś spożywa ten chleb, będzie żył na wieki. Chlebem, który Ja dam, jest moje Ciało, wydane za życie świata".

    Dzisiejsze czytania potwierdzają prawdę, że wszystko, co mamy, otrzymujemy to dzięki łasce od Boga. Nasze życie, istnienie, nawet majątek, który zdobywamy poprzez naszą ludzką pracę, są darem od Boga, ponieważ Bóg wspiera człowieka.

 

W pierwszym czytaniu z Księgi Królewskiej autor przedstawia nam proroka Eliasza. Był on bardzo zmartwiony z powodu króla Achaba. Myślał, że lepiej byłoby umrzeć niż pracować dla Boga. Ale Bóg posłał anioła i powiedział jemu: wstań, zjedz coś i kontynuuj swoją misję wśród mojego narodu.

 

W dzisiejszej Ewangelii według Marka, Jezus mówi: Ja jestem prawdziwym chlebem życia, nie ten, który jedli na pustyni wasi przodkowie, ale Ja jestem prawdziwym, niebiańskim pokarmem. To jest kolejny przykład, że nasze istnienie jest łaską od Boga. Jesteśmy karmieni przez Jezusa, który daje nam swoje Ciało i Krew na życie wiecznego. To On przez trzy ostatnie niedziele mówiły nam o tym, że musimy przyjmować sakramenty z czystym sercem, aby osiągnąć wieczne zbawienie.

 

Jezus Chrystus kończy swoje przemówienie: „Nikt nie może przyjść do Mnie, jeżeli go nie pociągnie Ojciec, który Mnie posłał”.

 

Tak, jesteśmy powołani, aby być z nim, a Ojciec wzywa nas przez chrzest, abyśmy stali się dziećmi Bożymi. To zaproszenie jest zarówno darem, jak i zadaniem. Nasze zaangażowanie wobec Pana, zaangażowanie sakramentalne zależy od nas. Jezus Chrystus nas wzywa, musimy dbać o naszą wiarę i zaangażowanie, które są w naszych rękach, a te dary nie są dane na zawsze. Bardzo łatwo je stracić z oczu.

 

Dzisiaj mamy niedzielę, ilu ludzi zaniedbuje niedzielną mszę i stawia swój odpoczynek na pierwszym miejscu? Są oni ochrzczeni; Bóg ich wzywa, ale oni nie mają czasu dla Pana. To dobra okazja, aby podziękować Wam za uczestnictwo we mszy i zaangażowanie.

 

Jezus Chrystus uczy nas, że bycie człowiekiem i wiara w Niego to łaska od Boga. Syn Boży nas wzywa, więc powinniśmy dbać o naszą wiarę i pozwolić jej rozkwitać poprzez sakramenty.

 

Poza tym powinniśmy być wdzięczni Panu za nasze życie i chrześcijaństwo. Amen.

God is calling us... Bóg nas wzywa...

 

John 6:24-35

It is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven; I am the bread of life

When the people saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into boats and crossed to Capernaum to look for Jesus. When they found him on the other side, they said to him, ‘Rabbi, when did you come here?’

  Jesus answered:

‘I tell you most solemnly,

you are not looking for me because you have seen the signs

but because you had all the bread you wanted to eat.

Do not work for food that cannot last,

but work for food that endures to eternal life,

the kind of food the Son of Man is offering you,

for on him the Father, God himself, has set his seal.’

Then they said to him, ‘What must we do if we are to do the works that God wants?’ Jesus gave them this answer, ‘This is working for God: you must believe in the one he has sent.’ So they said, ‘What sign will you give to show us that we should believe in you? What work will you do? Our fathers had manna to eat in the desert; as scripture says: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ Jesus answered:

‘I tell you most solemnly,

it was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven,

it is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven,

the true bread;

for the bread of God

is that which comes down from heaven

and gives life to the world.’

‘Sir,’ they said ‘give us that bread always.’ Jesus answered:

‘I am the bread of life.

He who comes to me will never be hungry;

he who believes in me will never thirst.’

The Second Reading from the Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians reports about the constant need to be converted. The Author says to give up the old way of life and get on the God’s track, which full of truth and holiness. These words of the Apostle of nations reminds us about the Christian duty and work to imitate our Lord Jesus Christ. From the very beginning, trough the baptism, we are encouraged and invited to improve our own lives in the light of the God’s grace. 

Of course, the holiness of Jesus is an unsurpassed example. The whole life is enough to achieve the virtues of God in 100 %. On the contrary, this is our first work to imitate Christ in thoughts and deeds. This is the key to our relationship with Him, to be reborn for God and His Kingdom. 

 

This is about of our permanent journey, to able to become a new man in Christ. Because of that, we need to make a great effort to give up the old life and renew our human existence in God, to imitate our Lord and His Authority. If we want to do it, we must be ready for many difficulties, because it is not easy to give up the old habits for the sake of God and our personal sanctification. But we can be sure that this huge effort and work will bring some great benefits for our relationship with God and others. And our Christian call will be fulfilled by God. 

The Gospel of John presents the words of Jesus: you don’t seek me, because I am God, but I gave you bread abundantly, search me with pure heart, as the Son of God. These words of Christ emphasise some attitudes of people, who seek God only for their own good. They use God as an ATM machine. There is not a deeper relationship than the one with God. This is the typical materialistic use of God, who is a good father. 

 

This common situation of nowadays demands our conversion. We need to treat God as our Father. He is the certain purpose of our life.

 

Saint Basil, one the doctors of the Church, said; “sow for yourself with an eye to righteousness”. This is an appeal to commit the whole life for God.

 

Let us pray for those, who have no desire to seek God. They try to find some materialistic joy which is only short living. May they overcome their ignorance and resistance and find the real God. Amen.

(J 6, 24-35) 
Kiedy ludzie z tłumu zauważyli, że na brzegu jeziora nie ma Jezusa ani Jego uczniów, wsiedli do łodzi, dotarli do Kafarnaum i tam szukali Jezusa. Gdy zaś odnaleźli Go na przeciwległym brzegu, rzekli do Niego: "Rabbi, kiedy tu przybyłeś?" W odpowiedzi rzekł im Jezus: "Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Szukacie Mnie nie dlatego, że widzieliście znaki, ale dlatego, że jedliście chleb do syta. Zabiegajcie nie o ten pokarm, który niszczeje, ale o ten, który trwa na życie wieczne, a który da wam Syn Człowieczy; Jego to bowiem pieczęcią swą naznaczył Bóg Ojciec". Oni zaś rzekli do Niego: "Cóż mamy czynić, abyśmy wykonywali dzieła Boga?" Jezus, odpowiadając, rzekł do nich: "Na tym polega dzieło Boga, abyście wierzyli w Tego, którego On posłał". Rzekli do Niego: "Jaki więc Ty uczynisz znak, abyśmy go zobaczyli i Tobie uwierzyli? Cóż zdziałasz? Ojcowie nasi jedli mannę na pustyni, jak napisano: „Dał im do jedzenia chleb z nieba”". Rzekł do nich Jezus: "Zaprawdę, zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Nie Mojżesz dał wam chleb z nieba, ale dopiero Ojciec mój daje wam prawdziwy chleb z nieba. Albowiem chlebem Bożym jest Ten, który z nieba zstępuje i życie daje światu". Rzekli więc do Niego: "Panie, dawaj nam zawsze ten chleb!" Odpowiedział im Jezus: "Ja jestem chlebem życia. Kto do Mnie przychodzi, nie będzie łaknął; a kto we Mnie wierzy, nigdy pragnąć nie będzie".

Drugie czytanie z Listu św. Pawła do Efezjan mówi o ciągłej potrzebie nawracania się. Autor zachęca, aby porzucić stary sposób życia i wejść na ścieżkę Boga, która jest pełna prawdy i świętości. Te słowa Apostoła Narodów przypominają nam o chrześcijańskim obowiązku i pracy naśladowania naszego Pana Jezusa Chrystusa. Od samego początku, poprzez chrzest, jesteśmy zachęcani i zapraszani do poprawy własnego życia w świetle łaski Bożej.

Oczywiście, świętość Jezusa jest niezrównanym przykładem. Całe życie nie wystarczy, aby osiągnąć cnoty Boże w 100%.  Naśladowanie Chrystusa w myślach i czynach, to klucz do naszej relacji z Nim, aby odrodzić się dla Boga i Jego Królestwa.

 

To dotyczy naszej stałej duchowej podróży, aby móc stać się nowym człowiekiem w Chrystusie. To powód, aby dokonać wielkiego wysiłku porzuceniu starego życie i odnowić nasze ludzkie istnienie w Bogu. Jeśli chcemy to zrobić, musimy być gotowi na wiele trudności, ponieważ nie jest łatwo porzucić stare nawyki dla dobra Boga i naszego osobistego uświęcenia. Ale możemy być pewni, że ten ogromny wysiłek i praca przyniosą wielkie korzyści dla naszej relacji z Bogiem i innymi. A nasze chrześcijańskie powołanie zostanie wypełnione Bożą Obecnością.

 

Ewangelia Jana przedstawia słowa Jezusa: nie szukacie Mnie, bo Ja jestem Bogiem, ale dałem wam chleba obficie. Szukajcie Mnie czystym sercem jako Syna Bożego. Te słowa Chrystusa podkreślają pewne postawy ludzi, którzy potrzebują Boga tylko dla własnego dobra. Używają Boga jak bankomatu. Nie ma tu głębszej relacji z Bogiem. To typowe materialistyczne wykorzystanie Boga, który jest Dobrym ojcem.

 

Ta powszechna sytuacja dzisiejszych czasów stawia przed nami wymagania nawrócenia. Powinniśmy traktować Boga jak naszego Ojca. On jest pewnym celem naszego życia.

 

Módlmy się za tych, którzy nie mają pragnienia szukania Boga. Próbują znaleźć jakąś materialną radość, która jest tylko krótkotrwała. Niech przezwyciężą swoją ignorancję, opór i znajdą prawdziwego Boga. To jest wyzwanie, aby poświęcić całe życie Bogu.
