Mark 14:12-16,​22-26

This is my body; this is my blood

On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was sacrificed, his disciples said to Jesus, ‘Where do you want us to go and make the preparations for you to eat the passover?’ So he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, ‘Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a pitcher of water. Follow him, and say to the owner of the house which he enters, “The Master says: Where is my dining room in which I can eat the passover with my disciples?” He will show you a large upper room furnished with couches, all prepared. Make the preparations for us there.’ The disciples set out and went to the city and found everything as he had told them, and prepared the Passover.

  And as they were eating he took some bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to them. ‘Take it,’ he said ‘this is my body.’ Then he took a cup, and when he had returned thanks he gave it to them, and all drank from it, and he said to them, ‘This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, which is to be poured out for many. I tell you solemnly, I shall not drink any more wine until the day I drink the new wine in the kingdom of God.’

  After psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives.

    Readings the Gospel of Mark, on this solemn day we are going with the Apostles to the Cenacle Room, to be the witnesses of the First Holy Eucharist. 

 

This Passover Meal of Jesus and his companions has become the Commemoration of the Miracle, which is repeated every day, as the Lord has required to do that. He said, do this in memory of me, and receive the Body and Blood.

 

On the Corpus Solemnity we stand before the mystery and holiness of our God. Jesus Christ is present among us, in his Church. The Blessed Sacrament, we call the Holy Eucharist, is the promise of the Son of God himself, I do not leave you, he says, I am with you, until I will come again. God, who is Almighty and powerful, he is with us, to feed us with his grace. 

 

Every Mass, it does not matter, where is it celebrated, in a small church and in a distinguish and beautiful decorated basilica, this is about the same Christ, who sacrifices himself on the altar for our salvation. If we stop and think for a while about this, we realize such a great and non-understanding gift we have. God is with us; the source of creation and holiness wants to dwell in human heart. 

 

Today we take the Blessed Sacrament to the streets, where we live, to venerate them and to manifest the faith in God, who is present in the Blessed Sacrament. This annual procession becomes a profession of faith, the living God is here, physically. Taking him outside of our churches, we want to adore and worship the miracle from heaven. 

 

We cannot understand the mystery of the Holy Eucharist, why is it possible, that God is a small piece of bread, and couple drops of wine after the consecration, while the priest is saying the words of Christ, changing the bread and wine into the Body and the Blood of God, not with his power, but with power of Christ, the Eternal Priest.

 

In the face of this great presence of God, we follow Saint Thomas Aquinas, who was one the brightest minds in the Church’s history. He also could not understand the miracle of the Eucharist, so he composed the eucharistic song “the Adoro te devote”. In the second verse he says, “Not to sight, or taste, or touch be credit hearing only do we trust secure; I believe, for God the Son has said it- Word of truth that ever shall endure”.

 

This day welomes us to adore our Lord, and to do the thanksgiving for every Holy Eucharist in my life. Jesus Christ is waiting to hear from us, I love you my Lord, thank you for coming to me, because I do not deserve for this gift of you, and altghout you come to me. 

 

May my life be open to the receiving of the Body of Christ so often. An Itallian yough Agustin Acutis, who died at 15 years old, the Beatified one of the Catholic Church, he will be canonized soon, as the man dedecated to the Holy Eucahrist, he used to say: the Mass is like a highway into heaven. To receive the Body of Christ, this is the certain way to God in his Kingdom. 

 

Let us receive the Body of Christ with veneration with pure heart in the state of grace, if we are not, the Merciful God is waiting to forgive our sins, to make in me a holy temple for God in my heart.

W pierwszy dzień Przaśników, kiedy ofiarowywano Paschę, zapytali Jezusa Jego uczniowie: "Gdzie chcesz, żebyśmy przygotowali Ci spożywanie Paschy?" I posłał dwóch spośród swoich uczniów z tym poleceniem: "Idźcie do miasta, a spotka was człowiek niosący dzban wody. Idźcie za nim i tam, gdzie wejdzie, powiedzcie gospodarzowi: Nauczyciel pyta: Gdzie jest dla Mnie izba, w której mógłbym spożyć Paschę z moimi uczniami? On wskaże wam na górze salę dużą, usłaną i gotową. Tam przygotujecie dla nas". Uczniowie wybrali się i przyszli do miasta, a tam znaleźli wszystko, tak jak im powiedział, i przygotowali Paschę. A gdy jedli, wziął chleb, odmówił błogosławieństwo, połamał i dał im, mówiąc: "Bierzcie, to jest Ciało moje". Potem wziął kielich i odmówiwszy dziękczynienie, dał im, i pili z niego wszyscy. I rzekł do nich: "To jest moja Krew Przymierza, która za wielu będzie wylana. Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Odtąd nie będę już pił napoju z owocu winnego krzewu aż do owego dnia, kiedy pić będę go nowy w królestwie Bożym". Po odśpiewaniu hymnu wyszli w stronę Góry Oliwnej.

    Czytając Ewangelie Marka, w tym uroczystym dniu udajemy się z Apostołami do Sali Wieczernikowej, aby być świadkami Pierwszej Eucharystii.

 

Ta Pascha Pana Jezusa i Jego Towarzyszy stała się Pamiątką Cudu, która jest powtarzana codziennie, zgodnie z poleceniem Jezusa. Mistrz wypowiedział takie oto słowa: czyńcie to na moją pamiątkę i przyjmujcie moje Ciało i Krew, gdziekolwiek jesteście.

Bóg, który jest Wszechmogący i Potężny, jest z nami, aby karmić nas swoją łaską.

 

Każda Msza św., bez względu na to, gdzie jest odprawiana, w małym kościele czy w dostojnych i pięknie zdobionych bazylikach, jest ten sam Chrystus, który ofiaruje się na ołtarzu dla naszego zbawienia. Jeśli zatrzymamy się i pomyślimy o tym przez chwilę, zdamy sobie sprawę z tak wielkiego i niezrozumiałego daru, który mamy. Bóg jest z nami; źródło stworzenia i świętości chce zamieszkać w sercu człowieka.

 

Dziś niesiemy Najświętszy Sakrament na ulice, gdzie mieszkamy, aby oddać Mu cześć i pokazać dar Boży innym. Ta coroczna procesja staje się wyznaniem wiary, że żywy Bóg jest tutaj, fizycznie i realnie. Biorąc Go poza nasze kościoły, chcemy adorować i czcić cud z nieba.

 

Nie możemy zrozumieć tajemnicy Najświętszej Eucharystii, jak to jest możliwe, że Bóg jest w małym kawałku chleba i w kilku kroplach wina po konsekracji, podczas gdy kapłan wypowiada słowa Chrystusa, przemieniając chleb i wino w Ciało i Krew Boga, nie swoją mocą, ale mocą Chrystusa, Wiecznego Kapłana.

 

W obliczu tej wielkiej obecności Boga podążamy za św. Tomaszem z Akwinu, który był jednym z najbystrzejszych umysłów w historii Kościoła. Ten dzień zachęca nas do adorowania naszego Pana i dziękczynienia za każdą Najświętszą Eucharystię w moim życiu. Jezus Chrystus czeka na wiadomość od nas: Kocham Cię, Panie mój, dziękuję, że przyszedłeś do mnie, bo nie zasługuję na ten dar od Ciebie, a mimo to przychodzisz do mnie.

 

Niech moje życie będzie otwarte na częste przyjmowanie Ciała Chrystusa. Młody Włoch Carlo Acutis, który zmarł w wieku 15 lat, beatyfikowany Kościoła katolickiego, wkrótce zostanie kanonizowany, jak mawiał ten człowiek oddany Najświętszej Eucharystii: Msza św. jest jak autostrada do nieba. Przyjęcie Ciała Chrystusa jest pewną drogą do Boga i Jego Królestwa.

 

Przyjmujmy z czcią i czystym sercem Ciało Chrystusa w stanie łaski, jeśli tak nie jest, Miłosierny Bóg czeka, aby przebaczyć nasze grzechy, aby w moim sercu zbudować świętą świątynię dla Boga.

 

Bądź uwielbiony, Panie, w Najświętszym Sakramencie Ołtarza. Amen.
