The Place of Salvation... Miejsce Zbawienia...

Mark 6:7-13

'Take nothing with you'

Jesus made a tour round the villages, teaching. Then he summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs giving them authority over the unclean spirits. And he instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no haversack, no coppers for their purses. They were to wear sandals but, he added, ‘Do not take a spare tunic.’ And he said to them, ‘If you enter a house anywhere, stay there until you leave the district. And if any place does not welcome you and people refuse to listen to you, as you walk away shake off the dust from under your feet as a sign to them.’ So they set off to preach repentance; and they cast out many devils, and anointed many sick people with oil and cured them.

Jesus sent His Apostles to proclaim the Good News and cure, convert and give people hope, says the Gospel according to Mark. The work of Christ was active, not stative. He wanted to reach every city and place in the Palestine, to give people the feeling that God cares of them. He knew it was impossible because of some limitations, so He sent His disciples to support His mission. 

 

The mission of the Apostles was immersed into the ministry of Jesus Christ, who was sent by His Father to give hope and provide the testimony about the truth. 

 

The continuation of Jesus’ work happens in Church. Christ left His authority and power for the community of the people who are baptized in His name. The Son of God chooses new labours, clergy and laity, to share His grace among others. Focusing on the Gospel, we see, that the work of the disciple was similar to what the church does today. The mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel, call for conversion and feed our souls with the sacred sacraments. 

 

The Church is not a charity movement, but the place of God who comes to reveal His glory and almightiness. Whatever ministry does the Church, it is Christ’s work. 

 

The community of believers has to be saved. This is the answer for some people, who insist that the salvation is available out of the church. One the documents of the Catholic Church from 2000, “Dominus Iesus”, says about the necessity of the Church in order to be redeemed: “Above all else, it must be firmly believed that “the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mk 16:16; Jn 3:5), and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through baptism as through a door” nr. 20. 

 

Jesus is the head of the Church, it is His will that the Church lasts to the end, as the place of God’s Mystery. 

 

The beginning of the Christianity is placed in Church. God is the Founder of the community and Christian Family.

Jezus przywołał do siebie Dwunastu i zaczął rozsyłać ich po dwóch. Dał im też władzę nad duchami nieczystymi i przykazał im, żeby nic z sobą nie brali na drogę prócz laski: ani chleba, ani torby, ani pieniędzy w trzosie. "Ale idźcie obuci w sandały i nie wdziewajcie dwóch sukien". I mówił do nich: "Gdy do jakiegoś domu wejdziecie, zostańcie tam, aż stamtąd wyjdziecie. Jeśli w jakimś miejscu was nie przyjmą i nie będą was słuchać, wychodząc stamtąd, strząśnijcie proch z nóg waszych na świadectwo dla nich". Oni więc wyszli i wzywali do nawracania się. Wyrzucali też wiele złych duchów, a wielu chorych namaszczali olejem i uzdrawiali.

Jezus posyła swoich Apostołów, aby głosili Dobrą Nowinę i pełnili Jego posługę uzdrawiania, nawracania i dawania nadziei, mówi nam Ewangelia Marka. Dzieło Chrystusa było aktywne, chciał On dotrzeć do każdego miasta i miejsca w Palestynie, aby dać poczucie, że Bóg troszczy się o swój lud. Wiedział, że nie jest w stanie obejść wszystkich miast Palestyny, więc posyłał współpracowników, aby czynili to samo.

 

Misja Apostołów była zanurzona w posłudze Jezusa Chrystusa, który został posłany przez Ojca, aby dawać nadzieję i świadectwo o prawdzie.

 

Kontynuacja dzieła Jezusa znajduje się w Kościele. Chrystus zostawił depozyt swojej władzy i mocy we wspólnocie ludu, która jest ochrzczona w Jego imię. Syn Boży wybiera duchownych i świeckich, aby dzielili się Jego łaską między ludźmi. Skupiając się na Ewangelii, widzimy, że praca ucznia Jezusa była taka sama, jaką czyni Kościół dzisiaj. Misją Kościoła jest głoszenie Ewangelii, wzywanie do nawrócenia i karmienie dusz świętymi sakramentami.

 

Kościół nie jest ruchem charytatywnym, ale miejscem Boga, który przychodzi, aby objawić swoją chwałę i wszechmoc. Wspólnota chrześcijan legitymizowana jest przez Chrystusa jako miejsce zbawienia. Jakąkolwiek posługę wykonuje Kościół, jest to te same dzieło Chrystusa.

 

Kościół jest koniecznie potrzebny do zbawienia. To jest odpowiedź dla niektórych ludzi, którzy upierają się, że zbawienie jest dostępne poza Kościołem. Jeden z dokumentów Kościoła Katolickiego z 2000 roku „Dominus Iesus” mówi o konieczności bycia w Kościele: „Przede wszystkim należy stanowczo wierzyć w to, że «pielgrzymujący Kościół konieczny jest do zbawienia. Chrystus bowiem jest jedynym pośrednikiem i drogą zbawienia, On, co staje się dla nas obecny w Ciele swoim, którym jest Kościół; On to właśnie, podkreślając wyraźnie konieczność wiary i chrztu (por. Mk 16, 16; J 3, 5), potwierdził równocześnie konieczność Kościoła, do którego ludzie dostają się przez chrzest jak przez bramę”. nr. 20.

 

Jezus jest Głową Kościoła, Jego wolą jest, aby Kościół trwał do końca jako miejsce Bożych Tajemnic.
