Jesus Christ our Comforter... Jezus Chrystus nasz Odkupiciel...

 

Mark 1:29-39

He cast out devils and cured many who were suffering from disease

On leaving the synagogue, Jesus went with James and John straight to the house of Simon and Andrew. Now Simon’s mother-in-law had gone to bed with fever, and they told him about her straightaway. He went to her, took her by the hand and helped her up. And the fever left her and she began to wait on them.

  That evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by devils. The whole town came crowding round the door, and he cured many who were suffering from diseases of one kind or another; he also cast out many devils, but he would not allow them to speak, because they knew who he was.

  In the morning, long before dawn, he got up and left the house, and went off to a lonely place and prayed there. Simon and his companions set out in search of him, and when they found him they said, ‘Everybody is looking for you.’ He answered, ‘Let us go elsewhere, to the neighbouring country towns, so that I can preach there too, because that is why I came.’ And he went all through Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out devils.

 

   The Gospel of the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time continues our visit to Capernaum, the town of Saint Peter. Jesus Christ went to Peter’s house for a mealand cured his mother-in-law. After that, many people who knew about His visit brought their own family members and friends who were sick and possessed. 

 

That story shows us that Jesus Christ wanted to beavailable for all people. He understood that a nation is without a pastor, so His will was to tell those people: I am the Son of God, the one that was promised. 

 

And what can we learn from it? Christ did not limit His duties and service for only one group or only oneman.

 

We also need Christ, we need to feel His presence and want to know that He is always here to help us. 

 

How does His help look like for us? A couple of days ago, I heared a short part of a sermon of the new bishop of my diocese in Poland. He was preaching that Jesus is our spiritual healer. He wants to touch our wounds, even those which are in the deepest place in our hearts, to give us His comfort and peace. He needs our consent to be able fight our fear and lack of hope, as well as bestow us with His strength and power which helpto carry own spiritual and physical crosses. 

 

We need that especially nowadays during the pandemic time, because of anxiety, frustration, lack of hope and grief in us. We miss to normality, we want to meet our families and friends. The situation we are in now causes wounds that needto be cured and touched by the heavenly grace of God. 

Such healing takes place in the community, because we are one big Christian Family. All ourproblems concern the whole community, even if it seems to us that it is our private battle. The truth is that we are united by our faith and belong to one society, and every one of us has influence on the rest of the group through our deeds anddecisions. Jesus is coming to cure us and ourwhole community if only we allow Him to do it.

 

To understand that Jesus wants to meet and help all of us we need to realize that heaven is the community of people. It is not only for ourselves or a tiny group.To be redeemed means to live in communion with those who Jesus Christ redeemed. Jesus experienced loneliness, he said: "My God, my god, why have you deserted me"? (Mt 27, 47).  He doesn't want us to be alone.

 

The Kingdom of Christ is the place where we meet with God and other people. There is no loneliness and selfishness there, but eternal rejoicing with others. 

 

Jesus Christ, cure us and fill our hearts with love and faith. Amen.

Jezus po wyjściu z synagogi przyszedł z Jakubem i Janem do domu Szymona i Andrzeja. Teściowa zaś Szymona leżała w gorączce. Zaraz powiedzieli Mu o niej. On zbliżył się do niej i ująwszy ją za rękę podniósł. Gorączka ją opuściła i usługiwała im. Z nastaniem wieczora, gdy słońce zaszło, przynosili do Niego wszystkich chorych i opętanych; i całe miasto było zebrane u drzwi. Uzdrowił wielu dotkniętych rozmaitymi chorobami i wiele złych duchów wyrzucił, lecz nie pozwalał złym duchom mówić, ponieważ wiedziały, kim On jest. Nad ranem, gdy jeszcze było ciemno, wstał, wyszedł i udał się na miejsce pustynne, i tam się modlił. Pośpieszył za Nim Szymon z towarzyszami, a gdy Go znaleźli, powiedzieli Mu: „Wszyscy Cię szukają”. Lecz On rzekł do nich: „Pójdźmy gdzie indziej, do sąsiednich miejscowości, abym i tam mógł nauczać, bo na to wyszedłem”. I chodził po całej Galilei, nauczając w ich synagogach i wyrzucając złe duchy.

  Ewangelia piątej niedzieli zwykłej kontynuuje naszą wizytę w Kafarnaum, mieście św. Piotra. Jezus Chrystus udał się do domu Piotra na posiłek i uzdrowił jego teściową. Potem wielu ludzi, którzy wiedzieli o Jego wizycie, przyprowadzało członków swoich rodzin i przyjaciół, którzy byli chorzy i opętani.

 

Ta historia pokazuje nam, że Jezus Chrystus chciał być dostępny dla wszystkich ludzi. Zrozumiał, że naród jest bez pasterza, więc Jego wolą było powiedzieć tym ludziom: Jestem Synem Bożym, tym, który został obiecany.

 

A czego możemy się z tego dowiedzieć? Chrystus nie ograniczył swoich obowiązków i służby tylko do jednej grupy lub tylko jednego człowieka.

 

Potrzebujemy także Chrystusa, musimy czuć Jego obecność i chcieć wiedzieć, że On jest zawsze tutaj, aby nam pomóc.

 

Jak wygląda jego pomoc dla nas? Kilka dni temu słyszałem krótką część kazania nowego biskupa z mojej diecezji w Polsce, który głosił, że Jezus jest naszym duchowym uzdrowieniem. On chce dotknąć naszych ran i krzywd, które są w najgłębszym miejscu naszego serca, aby dać nam ukojenie i spokój. Potrzebuje naszej zgody, aby móc przezwyciężyć strach, brak nadziei i dać swoją siłę i moc do niesienia własnego duchowego i fizycznego krzyża.

 

Szczególnie potrzebujemy tego w tym czasie, gdy pandemia wciąż trwa. Mamy wielu niepokojów, frustracji, braku nadziei i żalu. Brakuje nam normalności, możliwości spotkania się z naszymi rodzinami i przyjaciółmi. Wszystkie te rzeczy powinny zostać uleczone i dotknięte niebiańską łaską Bożą.

Ten rodzaj uzdrowienia Bożego dzieje się we wspólnocie, ponieważ tworzymy jedną wielką rodzinę chrześcijańską, której głową jest sam Jezus Chrystus. Wszystkie problemy dotyczą całej społeczności, nawet jeśli nam się wydaje, że tylko ja zmagam się z wieloma rzeczami, i jest to moja prywatna bitwa. Prawda jest taka, że ​​łączy nas wiara i przynależność do wspólnego narodu i społeczeństwa, a każdy z nas ma wpływ na całą grupę poprzez swoje czyny i decyzje. Jezus przychodzi, aby uzdrowić nas i całą społeczność, jeśli zechcemy i pozwolimy Mu na to.

 

Aby zrozumieć, że Jezus chce nas wszystkich pomóc, musimy zdać sobie sprawę, że niebo jest wspólnotą ludzi. Być odkupionym, to żyć w komunii z tymi, których odkupił Jezus Chrystus. Jezus doświadczył samotności, mówiąc: „Boże mój, Boże mój, czemuś mnie opuścił”? (Mt 27,47). On nie chce, żebyśmy byli sami.

 

Królestwo Chrystusa to miejsce, w którym spotykamy się z Bogiem i innymi ludźmi. Nie ma tam samotności i samolubstwa, ale wieczna radość z innymi.

 

Jezu Chryste, ulecz nas i napełnij nasze serca miłością i wiarą. Amen.
