To do Your Will... Pełnić Twoją Wolę...

 

Matthew 21:28-32

Tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you

Jesus said to the chief priests and elders of the people, ‘What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He went and said to the first, “My boy, you go and work in the vineyard today.” He answered, “I will not go,” but afterwards thought better of it and went. The man then went and said the same thing to the second who answered, “Certainly, sir,” but did not go. Which of the two did the father’s will?’ ‘The first’ they said. Jesus said to them, ‘I tell you solemnly, tax collectors and prostitutes are making their way into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you, a pattern of true righteousness, but you did not believe him, and yet the tax collectors and prostitutes did. Even after seeing that, you refused to think better of it and believe in him.’

    So often we think about what does it mean to be close to God? Who are we as Christians and believers? These are fundamental questions that concern our human being and sense of life. 

 

Jesus Christ wants to establish a special relationship with us. The today's Gospel shows that relationship as a bond between a father and a son. The first, principal rule of love is to love without conditions. Love should be the fundamental issue in Christianity. 

The parable tells about two sons who were asked for help by their father. The first one said: “I will do it” but he did not fulfil his father’s request. The second one said: “I will not do it” but finally He helped His father. The second son was rebellious, but eventually He helped His father. The real relationship is built on listening to God and fulfilling His will in the name of love. 

 

The second rule is the obedience to God. A perfect example here is Jesus Christ who was obedient to fulfil the will of His father.  

Obedience to God saves us from self-conceit. Jesus Christ teaches how to fulfil Father’s will and develop our spiritual and daily life.  

 

One day, I spoke to a priest, about of what does it mean to be holy. The conversation was out of the blue, but interesting. When we think about the holiness, we insist, that a man, who observe commandments and follow the Christian Law, he is holy. Of course, this is a very much needed, but the sanctity, it means to offer the whole life to God, every aspect of life, like the second son, who said; I do not go, but he went. 

 

During my holiday, I was in a church in the evening. The priest was reading the Diary of Faustina. In this chapter of the book was about the conversation of Jesus to Faustina. Christ said to her, there are three steps of holiness, the first one is about to observe the commands. The second is to follow God’s will in my life, and the third one, the most difficult is, to give my will to the Father. The last one it is a challenge, but this is the proper way to imitate God. 

 

It may sound very strange because it is in the contrary to our freedom and independence. But God does not want to enslave us but make us happier. Very often we need some suggestions to make our life better. God is the purest wisdom, He does not want to take away our freedom, but to enrich us by His holiness and power.

 

God, my Lord, may my relationship be built on listening to you. Amen.

Jezus powiedział do arcykapłanów i starszych ludu: "Co myślicie? Pewien człowiek miał dwóch synów. Zwrócił się do pierwszego i rzekł: „Dziecko, idź i pracuj dzisiaj w winnicy”. Ten odpowiedział: „Idę, panie!”, lecz nie poszedł. Zwrócił się do drugiego i to samo powiedział. Ten odparł: „Nie chcę”. Później jednak opamiętał się i poszedł. Który z tych dwóch spełnił wolę ojca?" Mówią Mu: "Ten drugi". Wtedy Jezus rzekł do nich: "Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Celnicy i nierządnice wchodzą przed wami do królestwa niebieskiego. Przyszedł bowiem do was Jan drogą sprawiedliwości, a wy mu nie uwierzyliście. Uwierzyli mu zaś celnicy i nierządnice. Wy patrzyliście na to, ale nawet później nie opamiętaliście się, żeby mu uwierzyć".

    Często zastanawiamy się, co to znaczy być blisko Boga? Kim jesteśmy jako chrześcijanie i wierzący? Są to pytania podstawowe, które dotyczą naszego człowieczeństwa i sensu życia.

 

Jezus Chrystus pragnie nawiązać z nami szczególną relację. Dzisiejsza Ewangelia ukazuje tę relację jako więź pomiędzy ojcem i synem. Pierwszą, główną zasadą miłości jest miłość bez warunków. Miłość powinna być podstawową sprawą w chrześcijaństwie.

Przypowieść opowiada o dwóch synach, których ojciec poprosił o pomoc. Pierwszy powiedział: „Zrobię to”, ale nie spełnił prośby ojca. Drugi powiedział: „Nie zrobię tego”, ale w końcu pomógł swojemu ojcu. Drugi syn był zbuntowany, ale w końcu pomógł swojemu ojcu. Prawdziwy związek buduje się na słuchaniu Boga i wypełnianiu Jego woli w imię miłości.

 

Drugą zasadą jest posłuszeństwo Bogu. Doskonałym przykładem jest tutaj Jezus Chrystus, który był posłuszny, aby wypełnić wolę swego ojca.

Posłuszeństwo Bogu chroni nas od zarozumiałości. Jezus Chrystus uczy, jak pełnić wolę Ojca i rozwijać nasze życie duchowe i codzienne.

 

Któregoś dnia rozmawiałem z innym księdzem o tym, co to znaczy być świętym. Rozmowa była niespodziewana, ale interesująca. Myśląc o świętości, upieramy się, że człowiek przestrzegający przykazań i postępując zgodnie z Prawem chrześcijańskim jest święty. Oczywiście jest to bardzo potrzebne, ale świętość oznacza ofiarowanie Bogu całego życia, każdego aspektu życia, jak uczynił to drugi syn; powiedział nie ojcu, ale przemyślał sprawę i on poszedł.

 

Podczas wakacji byłem wieczorem w kościele. Ksiądz czytał Dzienniczek św. Faustyny. W tym rozdziale księgi była mowa o rozmowie Jezusa z Faustyną. Chrystus powiedział jej, że są trzy stopnie świętości, pierwszy to przestrzeganie przykazań. Drugi to pełnienie woli Bożej w moim życiu, a trzecie, najtrudniejsze, to oddanie swojej woli Ojcu. To ostatnie jest wyzwaniem, ale jest to właściwy sposób naśladowania Boga.

 

Może to zabrzmieć bardzo dziwnie, bo jest sprzeczne z naszą wolnością i niezależnością. Bóg nie chce nas zniewolić, ale uczynić nas szczęśliwszymi. Bardzo często potrzebujemy sugestii, aby uczynić nasze życie lepszym. Bóg jest najczystszą mądrością, nie chce nam odebrać wolności, ale ubogacić nas swoją świętością i mocą.

 

Boże, mój Panie, niech moja relacja będzie zbudowana na słuchaniu Ciebie. Amen.
